    Applications Manager

    Purpose of Role
    As the Applications Manager, you will have overall accountability for the delivery of IT services, technical advancements, and security. Your focus will be on providing and maintaining a robust long-term information system architecture for our Shared Services applications. While you won’t have direct reports, you will collaborate closely with third-party service providers to ensure efficient service delivery

    This role reports directly to the Head of Shared Services

    Objectives of Role

    • Establish ITIL systems and processes to support our shared services model.
    • Design and implement policies, principles, procedures, governance, and risk management frameworks for efficient IT operations.

    Application Management and Support

    • Implement and maintain shared service application solutions, including Service Desk, HR systems, and Finance systems that facilitate the digitalisation of shared services processes and provide relevant, timely reports to our internal teams and customers.
    • Manage vendor relationships with third-party service providers.
    • Oversee the design, enablement, and delivery of core shared services applications
    • Ensure seamless integration of interfaces between different systems.
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on procurement, innovation, evolution, change management, and maintenance of Information Systems architecture.
    • Provide user administration support.
    • Perform system configuration and maintenance tasks.
    • Generate relevant reports.
    • Manage software licenses.

    Information System Projects

    • Lead and contribute to strategic IS projects.
    • Govern the software development life cycle.

    Governance and Security

    • Implement data governance principles.
    • Manage security, compliance, cybersecurity, incident management, and GITC audit compliance.

    System Optimization and Training

    • Optimize application performance and ensure applications are used to their full capabilities.
    • Provide training and communication to end-users.
    • Understand hosting environments for applications.

    Customer Excellence

    • Work closely with stakeholders to set clear expectations.
    • Strive to exceed agreed-upon service standards.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. (Essential)
    • Proven experience in application management, preferably within a shared services environment.
    • ITIL Certification (Essential)
    • Familiarity with agile project management methodologies.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    Impact Officer - Cape Town

    Purpose of Role
    AGGPSA seeks to appoint a highly skilled and experienced Impact Officer to join our team. Your main areas of focus would be to provide overall support to the SLLU team in key functions of Measurement, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL); Strategy; Data, Reporting and Systems. The role further provides SLLU and Connecten with overall Project and Operations Management including Planning, Executing, Overseeing, Co-ordinating Projects, Plans and Budgets (Connecten is an initiative aimed at encouraging data-driven entrepreneurship support in South Africa). It will include administration support to the teams and ad hoc assignments related to Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management.

    Objectives of Role
    M&E and Data Specialist support:

    •  Maintain and update monitoring and evaluation frameworks and measures for programs, units and initiatives.
    •  Support cost per impact reporting alongside finance
    •  Maintain and update data collection tools such as surveys for all AGGPSA initiatives
    •  Support teams to report on impact and effectiveness data timeously
    •  Support data capturing, analysis, quality assurance, visualisation and interpretation (quantitative and qualitative) for all workstreams.
    •  Support reporting to communicate progress, findings and recommendations on impact and effectiveness performance to internal and external stakeholders.
    •  Support presenting findings to relevant teams, management and stakeholders, providing actionable insights for strategic planning and decisionmaking.
    •  Maintain and update impact communication strategies to effectively convey achievements, challenges and overall impact to internal and external stakeholders.
    •  Document and support facilitation of learning sessions and workshops across AGGPSA to share insights and best practices with the team and partners, encouraging a culture of ongoing learning and reflective practices and documentation.
    •  Maintain and update organisation’s performance scorecard.

    Research Specialist Support:

    •  Co-ordinate research projects including those that assess the impact and effectiveness of AGGP_SA interventions.
    •  Gather research literature
    •  Support collaboration and knowledge sharing including learning labs across Programmes to ensure enhanced quality and impact of programmatic initiatives remain at the forefront.
    •  Maintain, update & communicate the Research Agenda and Knowledge library

    Strategy Support:

    •  Support the head of SLLU to develop & implement a clear Strategic Process including templates for AGGPSA teams
    •  Maintain and update the initiative one-pagers ensuring alignment to AGGPSA’s goals
    •  Maintain and update Strategy Documents including liasing with the comms team around packaging strategy

    Project, Operations and Financial Management of SLLU and Connecten:

    For Connecten AND SLLU team including Strategy, Measurement, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) and Data and Reporting:

    •  Project management and coordination on all projects including key cross functional projects.
    •  Prepare and present regular project and budget status reports, including progress updates, challenges, and recommendations.
    •  Organise off-sites, strategy and quarterly planning sessions
    •  Support Head of SLLU with the coordination and compilation of the annual operational plan and budget.
    •  Ongoing maintenance, forecasting, monitoring and reporting of Plans and Budgets including against actual activities and spend
    •  Develop, document, maintain and communicate templates, products and processes.
    •  Streamline processes to enhance the efficiency of department and initiative operations
    •  Act as a liaison between different departments and initiatives, ensuring clear and effective communication between SLLU and other units and initiatives.
    •  Co-ordinate and execute on AGGPA group alignment initiatives
    •  Ensuring all SLLU products (research, reports etc.) are produced are handed over and briefed to the Comms teams for design and dissemination

    Stakeholder Relationship Management:

    •  Engage with stakeholders, including partners and participants, to gather feedback and insights.
    •  Build and maintain strong relationships with key external and internal partners and stakeholders to ensure clarity and needs and expectations are met
    •  Facilitate and ensure that strategic partnerships align with AGGPSA practices and protocols
    •  Collaborate with required stakeholders to keep track of all initiative updates.
    •  Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement to meet the required targets.

    General Administration:

    •  Managing and coordination team and project meetings
    •  Managing team calendar
    •  Maintaining team sharepoint site
    •  Coordination of workshops and off-site and team builds
    •  Development of team communication
    •  Providing executive assistance as needed to Head of SLLU

    Adhoc:

    •  Support Head of SLLU and other team members with their tasks and activities where required
    •  Support, exploration and / or set up new or other projects as and when they arise and are deemed necessary.

    Experience and Qualifications
    Minimum qualification 

    • Degree in Development Studies, Business Studies, Project Management, Data,
    • Economics, Measurement & Evaluation or similar

    Minimum Experience

    Passion for involvement in Philanthropy mission and furthering entrepreneurship.
    3 years relevant experience in similar fast-paced environment across crossfunctional teams demonstrating skills and proficiency in: 

    • M&E
    • Research
    • Project Management and Administration

    Advantageous:

    • 3-5 years’ experience within Measurement, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) with proven proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools and software
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Ability to collaborate and align across internal and external stakeholders incl. subject matter experts

    Competencies

    • Excellent organisational, project management and administrative skills, including ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
