    Test Analyst

    Job Purpose

    • To define the test environment; analyse and document functional and non functional test cases based on the testing process and to participate in test design. Define the test environment requirements.

    Job Responsibilities

    •  Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. Staff surveys etc.).
    • Achieve business strategy by participating and supporting corporate social responsibility initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities to improve or enhance processes by identifying and recommending improvements to tools; policies and procedures to add value to Nedbank.
    • Add value to Nedbank by supporting the implementation of new processes; policies and systems.
    • Ensure understanding of client needs through participation in peer reviews.
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by providing feedback to stakeholders.
    • Enable consultation within the value chain that supports and depends on testing by establishing a network with peers.
    • Ensure stakeholders are informed by conducting walk through with the business.
    • Ensure work completed according to plan by analysing requirements; extracting requirements; and using intermediate level test plans.
    • Ensure functional and non functional test requirements by designing test cases and by creating test procedures.
    • Use resources effectively by defining a controlled system testing environment.
    • Specify test by using structured techniques.
    • Provide feedback on test by writing test summary reports.
    • Conduct static testing by applying rules and checklists.
    • Ensure test effort and business risk is maintained by prioritising requirements to test.
    • Execute on the project plan by creating test cases.
    • Ensure test plan are designed in accordance with relevant standards and practices by providing input into test plans.
    • Manage the traceability between test cases and requirements through documenting all findings and requirements.
    • Solve issues by identifying; reviewing and ensuring defects are assigned accordingly.
    • Comply with risk standards by logging incidents on relevant system and by managing outstanding incidents.
    • Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on role by reading the relevant newsletters; websites and attending sessions.
    • Understand and embrace the Nedbank Vision and Values by demonstrating the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.
    • Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers.
    • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring that all learning activities are completed; experience practiced and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.
    • Ensure knowledge management; continuity and team success through constructive participation in a diverse team and by sharing knowledge with team.
    • Produce test cases by adhering to agreed project timelines.
    • Provide advice on test requirements for the project to the relevant stakeholders

    People Specification

    • Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
    • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

    Preferred Qualification
    IT Diploma/ certificate. ISTQB foundation or equivalent entry level testing certification. (PST)

    Essential Certifications

    • ISTQB foundation or equivalent entry level testing certification. (PST) ISTQB foundation or equivalent (ISEB).
