Superintendent Production Logistics - Richards Bay at South32

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

• As a Superintendent Production Logistics , you are responsible to manage inbound and outbound logistics (raw material logistics of Hillside and over product dispatch via Durban and Richards Bay port)  in order to support and sustain  Aluminium production, without sacrificing safety.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

•  Interface with Marketing to establish, implement and manage yearly shipping schedule in line with strategic stock holding policies;
•  Manage site raw material reconciliation process; and metal stock yard at the Port;
•  Accountable to resolve of any raw material issues between Marketing, Hillside and Mozal Aluminium;
•  Lead the team to operate and improve the production or logistics processes and equipment safely and in accordance with the schedule (production or logistics), process specifications and the operation’s technical standards;
•  Drive initiatives to improve work practices, procedures and critical controls for material risks;
•  Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal and external relationships and implement remedial actions were required to ensure achievement of organizational goals;
•  Promote establishing active, informative relations with internal and external stakeholders;
•  Act as representative of the organization at stakeholder forums;
•  Manage expectations within mandate and protocol.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

•  Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience, of which at least 5 years in a supervisory role in a heavy industrial environment is required;
•  Experience in Logistics / Shipping will be advantageous;
•  Knowledge of international shipping laws and logistics will be advantageous.

Qualifications for this role are:

•  Bachelor’s Degree / BTECH / National Diploma in a technical field or Logistics.
