    Spekboom Production Manager - Addo

    Our client is looking for a Spekboom Production Manager to join the team.

    The successful candidate will oversee ground operations, where large teams are planting Spekboom.

    Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    •  Agricultural degree/diploma would be advantageous
    • At least 5 years experience in a production based operation, as a farm manager, or similar
    • Experience in large-scale operations with multiple facets
    • A minimum of 3 years proven experience managing a large team of people.
    • Knowledge of environmental regulations, standards and best practices for land restoration and rehabilitation is advantageous but not essential
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and resolve conflicts as needed.
    • Agricultural Production Manager – Thicket Restoration
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
    • The ability to adapt and adjust to changing circumstances and requirements.
    • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and experience implementing effective health and safety procedures.
    • Resilient and able to cope in challenging working conditions

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Site management: manage resources and equipment, oversee morning mobilisation and afternoon demobilisation, engaging directly with supervisors and general workers. Effectively handle problems and challenges on site as they arise
    • Oversee the fleet of vehicles and the logistics involved in transporting over 200 staff daily; responsible for problem solving and trouble shooting as issues arise.
    • Staff management: actively manage the supervisors and facilitators, as well as enuring that the production staff in the field are working effectively, safely, and efficiently, and addressing any issues that arise; assist in the training and induction of new staff; implement disciplinary standards
    • Enforce health and safety protocols
    • Communication: communicating regularly with senior management regarding problems or issues impacting production; provide daily reports to the Project Manager on operations.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation: evaluating operations to ensure continued production with the aim of minimizing downtime. Making recommendations based on observations.
    • Quality improvement: continuously putting forward ways in which operations can be improved; develop and innovate production systems
    • Data analysis, reporting and documentation: ensure all reporting systems are used effectively and daily documentation is completed and shared with Senior Management timeously. Audit the quality control and production data collect by field technicians
