    Short-Term HR Recruitment Support

    Responsibilities

    Facilitation of Office-Based Permanent Staff Recruitment:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to recruit (posting advertisements, selecting eligible candidates, setting interviews and report on final selection in coordination with the interview panel and hiring manager) approximately 10-15 positions aligned with the program organogram.
    • Conduct background and reference checks for successful candidates.
    • Finalize salary negotiations and make job offers in collaboration with the Country Director and Regional HRBP.

    Assistance in Recruitment and Placement of Jhpiego Secondees:

    • Support the recruitment process for approximately 50 secondees transitioning to various institutions.

    Collaboration with HR Focal Persons:

    • Work closely with the transitioning team and partners on HR and labor-related processes.

    Ensuring Compliance with Labor Practices:

    • Provide guidance during the transition phase to ensure adherence to both Jhpiego and South African labor practices.

    Remuneration Package Assessment:

    • Assess and determine remuneration packages for transitioned staff in accordance with Jhpiego standards and requirements.

    Induction Program Development:

    • Conduct inductions for newly recruited staff in accordance with Jhpiego policies to facilitate smooth integration.

    Development of Staff Secondment Policies and Guidelines:

    • Assist in the development of policies and guidelines for staff secondment to enhance clarity and efficiency

    Deliverables:

    • Timely completion of recruitment processes for office-based permanent staff and secondees.
    • Comprehensive documentation and compliance reports on HR and labor practices.
    • Induction materials and sessions conducted for newly recruited staff.
    • Draft policies and guidelines for staff secondment reviewed and finalized.

    Duration and Engagement: This engagement involves 2-3 months in-person support in Centurion during the month of July - September 2024, in order to align with the critical phases of the startup and operational planning period.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field with a post graduate degree prefferred.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ progressive practical work experience in Human Resource. Background as a HR generalist will be an added advantage
    • Experience working with medium to large sized donor funded INGOs. Experience working with USAID funded organisations will be an added advantage.
    • In depth knowledge of South African employment practices

    • Ability to demonstrate diplomacy, sensitivity, and respect for confidentiality.
    • Effective organizational skills, attention to details and ability to handle a large volume of work in an efficient and timely manner.
    • Highly motivated, energetic, independent self-starter with strong team orientation.
    • Demonstrated use of initiative and ability to make appropriate linkages in work requirements and anticipate next steps.
    • Strong presentation and communications skills, oral and written.
    • Proficiency in computer applications to include MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Knowledge of Donors policies and procedures.
