An opportunity has arisen for a high calibre SHERQ Coordinator, to oversee and liaise with clients on SHEQ. Align systems with their requirements and protocols and must have experience in developing, implementing and maintaining an integrated SHEQ management system. 

Oversees and coordinates activities related to safety, health, environment, risk, and quality management within an organization.Ensures that safety protocols, procedures, and policies are in place and effectively implemented that pertains to health management programs and environmental aspects. Participates in internal and external audits, logging and tracking audit findings. 

Minimum Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12
• COMSOC -Chambers of Mining Safety Officers Course – Level 1 and 2
• SAMTRAC for Mining
• Incident Investigation certificate
• Competent A Certificate – MQA will be an added advantage
• Blasting Ticket will be an added advantage
• MS Office experience and efficiency with strong administration skills
• Sound knowledge ISO 9001 ,14001 and 45001 Management Systems, COID Act, relevant Road Traffic legislation and SANS Standards
• Possess leadership qualities with the ability to promote team work and cooperation and create a climate for motivation
• Handle queries regarding HSE issues within the working environment
• Ability to work independently under pressure meeting contract and customer deadlines
• An understanding of processes relating to Accident & Incident investigation, reporting, recording and application of remedial action
• Knowledge of the Transport and Logistics Industry will be a definite advantage
• Knowledge of Engineering practices will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of IT Systems and integration will be an added advantage

Duties & Responsibilities

• System Implementation in accordance with ISO 9001,14001 and 45001 and Other Relevant Standards
• Safety Management and Planning
• Assist the Contract Manager in Day to Day Safety Management
• Conduct Meetings and Ensure Proper Safety Communication and Notifications
• Planned Inspections, Daily Weekly and Monthly.
• Environmental Inspections and Monitoring
• Maintain and Monitor Housekeeping standards
• Monitor and Manage Employee Compliance Training, Authorization and Licensing
• Monitor and Manage Legal Compliance
• Facilitate Change Management Process
• Safety Statistics and Monthly Reporting
• Safety Cost Allocation and Management
• Issuing, Management and Control of Personal Protective Equipment
• Incident Investigations and Management of Reporting Systems
• Develop and Implement Safe Operating Procedures
• Implement and Monitor Client Requirements
• Facilitate and Conduct Risk Assessments
• Facilitate Behavior Based Safety Program
• Conduct and Participate in Internal and External Audits
• Assist with Client Relations and Correspondence
• Health and Safety Management of Facilities
• Management of Security and Asset protection
• Assist with Local Affairs and Police related issues
• Drivecam and Mix Telematics Systems Monitoring and Maintenance
