    Risk Engineer - Brackenfell

    Purpose of the Job    

    The purpose of the Risk Engineer role is to provide operational support on risk engineering related initiatives and projects with the aim of managing loss control, mitigating risk, improving safety and reducing claims. The Risk Engineer will coordinate, process, analyse and execute activities related to business risk exposures across the Group, with a specific focus on compliance to regulations and risk mitigation, including fire prevention, fire detection and fire protection. The role will work closely with the Risk Engineering Manager while collaborating with stakeholders across the Group, to assess risks and trends and determine compliance standards

    Job Objectives    

    • Support in the analysis and assessment of risks and trends across the Group and identify suitable methodologies, processes or practices to mitigate any potential risks.  
    • Determine compliance requirements and implement monitoring processes.  
    • Prepare and document project proposals, standard operating procedures, policies and budgets.  
    • Perform risk assessments by conducting comprehensive site visits.  
    • Execute administrative functions including data capturing, processing and verification of designs, reports and other deliverables. 
    • Liaise with various stakeholders to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives of projects and deliverables.
    • Coordinate and correspond with internal and external stakeholders on any queries, project requirements or feedback.
    • Document and communicate related information to stakeholders including status reporting, meeting minutes and project documentation. 
    • Provide project management support on related risk initiatives, ensuring ownership and delivery on priorities. 
    • Ensure ongoing management and monitoring of initiatives and projects. 
    • Research and keep up to date with regulatory requirements and best practices to support the development and continuous improvement of projects and initiatives. 

    Qualifications    

    • Degree in Engineering, Risk Management or a related technical field – (preferred).  

    Experience    

    • Understanding of and exposure to project management methodologies and practices - (desirable). 
    • Experience in a retail, FMCG or engineering environment – (desirable).  
    • +2 years in a Risk Engineer capacity or similar role, assessing risk, monitoring compliance and executing projects to manage loss control and mitigate risk in a regulatory, building control, health and safety or risk management environment – (desirable). 

    Knowledge and Skills    

    • Proficiency in MS Office with an intermediate skill level in Excel, Word and PPT – (essential).
