    Quality Improvement Team Leader - Northern Cape

    Description

    • To provide coaching and mentorship in the development, implementation and reporting of improvement projects, systems and processes through the routine use of health and programme data to meet and improve health care systems and programme needs in Right to Care supported facilities.

    Requirements
    Required Minimum Qualifications

    • An appropriate degree in Health, public health, management or related field

    Required Minimum Experience

    • Significant experience in working with the department of health at a senior level
    • Should have significant experience and technical knowledge of quality improvement
    • At least 3 years’ experience in systems design, management and analysis

    Desirable Experience

    • 3 years’ or more experience in infectious diseases management e.g COVID19/HIV/TB/ STI 
    • Experience working in NGOs
    • Working knowledge & understanding of  the National Core Standards
    • Quality assurance and quality improvement experience related to health care service delivery

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

    • Provide leadership, coordination and formulate the QI/QA agenda within RTC programmes.
    • Responsible for understanding the processes of the underlying system of care so that improvements can be implemented to effectively address problems through:
      •  Ensuring the strengthening of linkages between the programmes to foster quality improvement in health services by:
      • Analysing and interpreting data to identify opportunities for improvement
      • Design, develop and monitor improvement projects at National, District, sub-district and Facility level
      • Create a vision for quality improvement within Right to Care and other stakeholders
      • Capacity building for quality improvement within Right to Care and other stakeholders
      • Leading and coordinating change initiatives
      • Analysing data for reporting and project design purposes
    • Assist in implementation of Quality Improvement/assurance activities by working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to identify gaps in service delivery and to identify and set improvement priorities
    • Continuous report writing, recordkeeping of all working procedures, identification of gaps, development and implementation of new procedures and standards
    • Follow-up on the implementation of changes and comment on improvements, ensure continuous improvement
    • Guiding and directing Right to Care staff and other stakeholders in the development, implementation and measuring of quality improvement initiatives
    •  Assist the regional teams to plan, prioritise and manage QI projects

    Provide formal training/mentoring to relevant stakeholders to ensure skills transfer regarding quality improvement

    Facilitate learning sessions on a regular basis

    • Apply adult education methodology
    • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures according to prescribed procedures and legislation.
    • Report all unsafe activities to Senior Management/Human Resources.
    • Adhere and maintain Decision making authority as allocated to the position
    • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Adheres to all management SOP’s,  guidelines and confidential agreements
    • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill .
    • Liaise with all Internal Customers and External Customers and Suppliers when necessary towards the achievement of organizational and departmental goals
    •  Form and maintain close working relationships with various Specialists within Right to Care and other organizations to ensure appropriateness and correctness
    • Represent Right to Care at organizational and external stakeholder meetings
