Project Manager – Sage Implementation at Salt South Africa

Job Overview:

• We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful implementation of the Sage X3 ERP system within a high-profile business transition project. This role involves not only managing the Sage implementation but also leading an internal team to scope and execute additional infrastructure, application, and support service changes. The ideal candidate will have experience in ERP project management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and change management.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Initiation:

• Develop a comprehensive project plan aligned with the Sage Implementation Partner’s timeline, including milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
• Conduct a project kick-off meeting to align stakeholders on objectives and plans.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Facilitate communication and collaboration between all relevant stakeholders, including internal teams, external vendors, and consultants.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure project alignment with business objectives.

Resource Management:

• Coordinate the allocation of personnel, budget, and technology resources to ensure project success.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors, consultants, and other external resources.

Risk Management:

• Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain a risk register and communicate any potential issues to stakeholders promptly.

Implementation Management:

• Oversee data migration activities, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Monitor and manage the progress of the ERP implementation to ensure it remains on schedule.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

• Develop and coordinate comprehensive testing plans, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Ensure all testing activities are completed and documented.

Training & Change Management:

• Collaborate with the Sage Implementation Partner to develop and execute a training plan.
• Facilitate change management activities to ensure smooth transition and user adoption of the new system.

Go-Live & Post-Implementation Support:

• Coordinate go-live activities and monitor system performance.
• Provide post-implementation support and conduct a review to assess project success.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, risk registers, and meeting minutes.
• Provide weekly updates to stakeholders and a final project report upon completion.

Qualifications:

• Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in IT, Business Management, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in ERP project management, particularly with Sage X3 or similar systems.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, risk management, and change management principles.
• Proven track record of managing complex projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
