    Production Manager - Pretoria

    People Management 

    • Implement and maintain appropriate systems to measure, track and continuously improve KPIs.
    • Manage production shift team leaders and/or supervisors through appropriate planning and delegation of duties.
    • Accountable for people management, people engagement and morale, as well as training and development.
    • Engage effectively with other functions to ensure exceptional line performance, which includes, Engineering, Logistics and Scheduling, Human Resources through continuous back and forth engagement with all the relevant stakeholders.
    • Effectively empower and develop staff through goal setting and performance management to enable them to contribute effectively and make the right decisions.
    • To manage and ensure cost effective labour usage in accordance with MANMAPS.
    • To ensure the right talent are recruited and identified for development in line with the company's training and development plan.
    • To ensure the correct implementation of business strategies to achieve the set targets.
    • Deal with IR issues and manage the disciplinary actions within the factory in line with AVI's and legislative disciplinary procedures.
    • Train, mentor and coach subordinates to ensure continuous personal and professional development.
    • Manage employee performance through continuous and timely performance reviews.
    • Maintain employee relations through fair and consistent labour relations practices.
    • Effectively manage operational budget and cost effectiveness to ensure the company maintains its market share.

    Production Management 

    • Coordinate all activities on the production lines, including start-ups, change overs, shut downs, maintenance windows, maintenance shutdowns, trials, etc.
    • Responsible for integration of new material, products and processes on the line using the appropriate change protocols.
    • Take full accountability for all aspects of line performance including Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Losses and waste, production plan delivery, food safety compliance, environmental compliance and legal compliance, including OHS Act.
    • To lead and support the production team towards achieving the company objectives.
    • To ensure optimal production through effective liaison with all other support functions.
    • To analyse and resolve production history in order to minimize potential risk.
    • Ensure world class production and quality targets are achieved in the most cost effective manner.
    • Assessing project and resource requirements that enable efficient production processes.
    • To ensure that operating specifications are in place and are achievable within the acceptable standards or time frames.

    Systems Management 

    • Implement and maintain appropriate systems to measure, track and continuously improve KPIs.
    • Ensure appropriate operating standards are in use and updated according to the set standards.
    • To ensure implementation and adherence to SHEQ, QMS food safety.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Experience: 

    • People Management
    • Experience in a managerial role
    • Over 5 years' experience in a production environment leadership role
    • Lean Manufacturing Principles
    • Specialist knowledge
    • Knowledge of financial processes
    • WCM or TPM principles & OHS Act

    Qualifications:

    • Supevisory, Food Safety, Production Management Certificates
    • Bachelor of Science Degree Engineering
