Principal Professional Officer - Strategy at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• A relevant post-graduate degree (Master’s degree is advantageous)
• Candidates with a Master’s will be given preference
• Six (6) to eight (8) or more years relevant experience

Key Performance Areas

• Facilitate the development, drafting and approval of complex City-wide strategies
• Support the identification, conceptualisation and delivery of activities critical to the implementation of City strategies
• Facilitate and drive the establishment of priority work packages linked to the implementation of City Strategies
• Provide concept support and work with relevant departments to deliver and report on strategic work packages
• Provide strategic support, advice and counsel to the City’s political and executive leadership
• Problem solve complex strategy issues
• Meet with internal and external stakeholders to deliver City strategies
• Establish workgroups, utilise processes, work transversally to support the development of the City’s strategic eco-system
• Leverage existing City processes, resources and functions to achieve strategic objectives through targeted interventions
• Perform functions in an acting capacity
