    Operator Face Prep - South32, Wessels Mine

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    • The purpose of this role is to to safely inspect, wash and prepare faces for drilling.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Serious contenders will have a Grade 12 with Mathematics for internal candidate and Grade 10 for internal candidates only together with 1-year relevant experience;
    • Valid Driver’s license is essential;
    • Underground experience is advantageous.

    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Pump water using Submersible De-watering Pumps
    • Install submersible pumps;
    • Clean the area for footwall examination prior to marking;
    • Wash and clean face for inspection;
    • Treat and remove misfires;
    • Assist with marking (lines and grades).
