    Non-Executive Director: ConnectForChange Trust

    ConnectforChange is a donation platform that allows Vodacom’s customers to donate their money to worthy causes aligned to Vodacom’s Purpose to “connect for a better future.”
    As the non-executive director of the ConnecforChange Trust, the Trustee shall administer the Trust for the benefit of the Beneficiaries in the manner and upon the terms and conditions set out in the Trust Deed.
    The Trustee’s role is a supervisory and advisory one which broadly includes providing objective, independent and constructive views of the plans and decisions of the Trust, improving corporate credibility and governance standards, as well as playing a vital role in risk management

    Key Accountabilities
    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Advise on the strategic aims of the Trust
    • Scrutinise the performance of the Trust in meeting agreed goals and objectives
    • Monitor the reporting of performance
    • Interrogate the financials to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financial information
    • Ensure that financial controls and systems of risk management are robust and defendable
    • Ensure all governance procedures are adhered to
    • Uphold high standards of integrity and compliance


    Core Competencies, Knowledge & Experience
    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Strong business acumen and commercial astuteness
    • Politically astute and sensitive to the SA governments’ development agenda
    • Strategic thinker with critical evaluation skills and the ability to get to the heart of an issue quickly
    • An understanding of governance as well as an appreciation of the legal and regulatory frameworks within which Vodacom operates
    • An independent and objective mind set capable of asking challenging questionsand demonstrating sound judgement
    • Telecommunications industry knowledge would be an advantage
