Manager, Preferential Procurement at Standard Bank Group

JOB DESCRIPTION

To lead and drive the implementation of Preferential Procurement initiatives for the Standard Bank organisation through identifying, developing and managing suppliers in line with the requirements of the Preferential Procurement elements, as contemplated in the B-BBEE Act, Amended Codes of Good Practice and the Financial Services Sector Codes to ensure optimal benefits for the Platform organisation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

Type of Qualification: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: Purchasing and Procurement

Other Minimum Qualifications, certifications or professional memberships:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain Management at NQF level 7 would be a minimum requirement
• Membership of a procurement / SCM professional body e.g MCIPS / SAPICS is a requirement. Specialist knowledge of BBBEE legislation and codes (both generic and Financial Sector)

Experience Required

• Strategic Sourcing5-7 years
• The role requires an incumbent with a thorough understanding of the entire Procurement and Supply Chain Management value chain but a deep level of knowledge and experience of B-BBEE, Financial Sector Codes, and various/other Sector Codes. Experience in a Supply Chain Management / Procurement environment and end to end accountability for a set of commodities. Procurement knowledge and experience, Category Management, Procurement process and Tactical Sourcing would be critical.
