    Manager, Governing Standards and Physical Security Technical Systems Support and Controls

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    To set, establish and maintain up to date Group Physical Security Standards, Policies and Procedures in order to ensure an acceptable security baseline. To provide and guide Group Physical Security Business Units, including Regional and Provincial Security Managers, Internal Protection and Specialised Security Services on conformance with policy, procedure, specifications and standards.  To test and report on conformance of vendors with relevant legislation requirements.  Provide security technical expertise, guidance and support to the branch network to ensure consistency across the Group and sharing of best practices.  Establish a digital based security equipment testing, evaluation and acceptance procedure for the testing of newly proposed or baseline changed security equipment.  Lead and drive the Technical Security Support Operation (Incident Management System) to ensure maximum Security System uptime and reliability.  Provide reporting information and conformance assessment reports to the Head Physical Security Conformance and Systems Controls in the time scales required to ensure.  Drive down potential crime and operational value losses, which could severely impact the organisation's profit and loss and reputation by providing Technical expertise as and when required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A first degree in Risk Management, Legal or Security Management would be a minimum requirement for this job.
    • PSiRA certification would be required - Private Security Industry Regulation Act 56 of 2001.

    Experience Required

    • 8-10 years sound experience in Security Business Management would be required. The role requires an individual with a deep level of experience in project management and a proven track record of working in a pressurised security environment. Risk management is a critical requirement. Leading a diverse team of people dealing with significant pressure and stress would be required. Monitoring & managing security intelligence systems and associated equipment.
