    Manager: Digital Product Development

    Job Summary

    • This role Leads the implementation of the strategic digital roadmap of a single business roadmap across multiple channels. Delivers complex, large scale digital products through the integration and optimisation of the internal value chain that is limited to a single roadmap.  
    • For the designated portfolio of digital products, drive the delivery of the relevant business plans with respect to customer and colleague digital adoption, consequently driving business value and business performance in digital channels.

    Job Description

    Strategic Leadership and Planning

    • Build strategic product roadmap aligned to the overall digital strategy and deliver against defined work packages
    • Remain abreast of current industry standards locally and internationally to understand emerging trends in digital and digital product ownership 
    • Ensure that the strategy includes conducting on-going local and international market analysis for new and innovative offerings for consideration in the different portfolios, while driving continuous strategic alignment internally.
    • Manage product release plans and deliver on new functionalities. Track progress of work and address risk and interdependencies which impact on business units and product streams within the portfolio.
    • Provide thought leadership and contribute towards the innovation engine for the portfolio.
    • Proactively engage and build relationships with business, design and technology stakeholders. 

    Product Development

    • Deliver on mobile feature development and guide teams on crafting a mobile first transformation agenda with their aligned businesses.
    • Execute strategic vision at a functional and operational level.
    • Effective use of product management technology and tools to increase productivity, and accelerate team learning and skills development.
    • Execute product roadmap based on the product lifecycle with its associated price, promotion, distribution and customer needs objectives.
    • Provide direction, guidance and input to the digital analysts on the development and management of processes to ensure the effective delivery of products. 

    Product lifecycle

    • Accountable for delivering the end to end features or projects on a specific digital channel. 
    • Manage both the strategic and tactical product lifecycle, from ideation and roadmap to development, refinement, ongoing optimization, growth and finally product retirement. 
    • Provide ongoing strategic input to marketing teams to ensure alignment to product capabilities.
    • Execute and deliver on continuous improvement action plans to optimise service management and customer experience levels.
    • Execute on sunsetting plans for products in the portfolio that are outdated, and which are not providing a ROI.
    • Manage reporting and analytics within portfolio and provide key analysis and insights on performance of the products.

    Learning and Growth / PM / Risk

    • Facilitate and encourage frequent collaboration and knowledge sharing between team members.
    • Oversee the maintenance of knowledge management tool and agile learning system to support real- time learning.
    • Implement best practice methodologies for customer and colleague digital adoption.
    • Promote an engaging, enabling and productive work climate through positive and constructive participation.
    • Promote and monitor team adherence to processes, control requirements and risk management frameworks designed for the area.
    • Practice continuous learning and self-improvement to stay informed on digital best practices

    Commercial performance

    • Deliver the commercial outcomes of a specific feature and makes recommendations to improve commercial outcomes.
    • Use data insights to identify opportunities and make recommendations for investment 
    • Continuously review product performance against key SLA’s delivering corrections where necessary. 
    • Identify opportunities for new revenue and cost reduction within the product stream for current and future considerations.

    Education

    Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
