The incumbent will identify business requirements for analytics and assist in visualisation and dash boarding in a sustainable way. Job Purpose

To provide statistical and financial insights into the establishment and the attainment of the financial objectives of the Business Unit, predictive financial modelling and insights, as well as analytics for Consumer & High Net Worth, SA. The incumbent will identify business requirements for analytics and assist in visualisation and dash boarding in a sustainable way. They will also assist in automation of reports where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Analysis

• Ability to translate data to inform business unit strategic objectives.

• Accountable for analytics and modelling for Consumer & High Net Worth, SA.

• Establish business financial performance predictive indices and dashboards that provide actual and anticipated performance given the market context.

• Takes responsibility for monthly analysis that will initially be produced on an ad hoc basis and then productionalised monthly, as appropriate.

• Tasks require a varying degree of decision-making, analytical understanding and co-ordination across several units.

• Analysis will cover a wide range of subjects from customer behavior, branch performance, and sales measures

 Automation

• Automation of routine reporting, visualisation, and dash boarding.

• Prioritising of requests and application of project management principles.

• Optimises and streamlines existing procedures and system interactions to ensure data quality, availability and improved turnaround time.

 Data management

• Managing PMT, sales, and other data requests and investigations as they pertain to Consumer & High Net Worth SA wide issues.

• Understanding the underlying PMT and Sales tables principles and handling queries.

• Managing data requirements for Consumer & High Net Worth SA wide requirements and ensure that monthly and ad hoc requirements are fulfilled.

• Ensure that models are up to date and adequately maintained.

 Project management

• Manages the end-to-end process of ad hoc business unit requests.

• Adheres to ad hoc reporting format and standards as required by business.

• Manages the design and development of the solution after analysis and discussion with other key stakeholders and drives the delivery of the solution or report to business.

• Defines, scopes, and owns tasks/projects of a high complexity on an independent basis against business deliverables.

• Manages all ad hoc requests through life cycle.

• Understands the interdependencies between people, systems and business.

• Based on the understanding of the solution or report delivered, negotiates and influences business.

 Business support

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial insights reports for Consumer & High Net Worth SA.

• Prepare regular non-financials insights for Consumer & High Net Worth SA

• Partner with & support provincial, regional, local market & branch leaders with analytical insights and reporting

 General

• Ensures appropriate reporting using a standard format that is easily understood by business.

• Enhances the understanding of reported information through the use of standard definitions to be easily understood across all reporting formats.

• Ensures that problems in reporting or gaps in information are identified and resolved.

• Extracts, collates and performs analysis of financial information from various sources and systems and reports on key business requirements.

• Provides input to the BU to support the budget setting and forecasting processes.

• Leverage and work collaboratively with Client Solutions finance teams to ascertain product insights.

• Proactively drives solutions for better business understanding.

 Stakeholder management and planning

• Provides quality support to the enablement team which encompasses many executives and high performance teams requiring significant support on demand.

• Provides quality support to business with regards to reporting and constantly seeks to improve the quality of the support provided.

• Ensures a clear understanding of the information required to meet business needs through in-depth questioning and analysis.

• Presents comprehensive information to key stakeholders at an appropriate level of detail to facilitate insight and decision making

• The incumbent will also have working relationships with the various Product and Provincial Finance Heads across the portfolios. Focus on building strong relationships.

• Provide highest level of customer service.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

• Bcom IT/Mathematics/Statistics/Actuarial/Engineering or related degree

• 3 years working in a SQL environment

• 3 years manipulating and processing large datasets

• 1 years building statistical models

• Presenting information to a large and senior audience

• Strong statistical modelling skills

• Strong data manipulation skills

• Strong knowledge SQL and various SQL RDMS (Teradata, Microsoft, etc)

• Understanding of reporting systems (QlikView, Power BI, etc)

• Strong knowledge of Python/R/SAS
