    Logistics Co-ordinator

    Purpose of the Job

    To co-ordinate the distribution processes and controls through monitoring SLA’S & KPI’s, taking responsibility for the standards and processes of transportation, maintaining cost effectiveness with customer centricity approach, collaborating with depots and ensuring that the remedial plans are put into action & administrative activities are handled effectively and efficiently as per requirements to ensure business requirements are met adequately and to achieve operational efficiencies.

    What you have done before:

    Baseline:

    • NQF Level 6 (Diploma in Warehousing/ Logistics/ Operations/ Shipping)
    • 3 years’ experience in coordinating Logistics Operations/ Transport
    • Experience in managing 3rd party contractors

    Advantageous:

    • NQF Level 7 (Degree in Warehousing/ Logistics/ Operations/ Shipping)

    What you'll be doing:

    • Manage and control third-party and transport logistics processes in order to balance customer service levels with Supply Chain costs thereby optimizing, creating competitive edge and contributing to profit growth.
    • Coordinate all logistics & transport related projects including business initiatives
    • Manage third-party transport inbound & outbound to ensure the schedule plans are met and coordinate adhoc transport activities
    • Participate and coordinate all transport tender processes with relevant stakeholders
    • Manage warehousing and logistics contracts and storage & handling and transport cost to ensure product delivery standards are adhered to
    • Ensure all payments for activities are processed in a timeous manner to vendor and manage credit and product receipts for oil centre
    • Ensure delivery to OTIF for customers and manage tender requirements by ensuring right allocation of customers and the routes in order for networks to be optimised
    • Take responsible for the OPEX management for Cost Centre purposes
    • Manage rental accounts in coordination with all of Lubricants warehouses and 3rd party transport providers with minimal impact on OPEX
    • Manage pallet movements and recons with suppliers and warehouses and implement reduction strategies to minimize costs
    • Conduct HSEQ Audits on warehouse standards as per requirements
    • Participate in all RTSOG updated trainings and implement RTSOG with Lubricants 3rd party transport contractors and conduct RTSOG audits on both Engen facilities as well as 3rd party transporters
    • Ensure compliance to MOC process for any changes to transporters or warehouse in the logistics area
    • Ensure compliance and manage risks by taking a lead in investigating all transport related incidents
    • Ensure application of the Transport Legislation (SA & SSA) for third party logistics to ensure compliance
    • Manage stock count and reconciliation process to ensure compliance to stock is maintained
    • Analyse depot planning fleet utilization and pay loads in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders
    • Ensure monthly reporting on all transport stats to ensure monitoring is adhered to
    • Monitor delivery of 3rd party contractors and attend to monthly compliance meetings to ensure performance adhere to agreed SLA’s
    • Manage the monthly transport rate updates to TD department to ensure that the right rates are applied into the system
    • Ensure management of transshipping costs through proper planning and route alignment to ensure we are not incurring additional costs
    • Review of Transshipping losses and action any changes to resolve the losses
    • Ensure that the route and the rates are set up properly in SAP to ensure we have the correct financial impact in Engen’s Lubes Profit and Loss statement
    • Ensure that the claim account is managed, and monies are recovered to Engen within 60 days of invoicing
