Lecturer: Digital Design (Independent Contractor)-KwaZulu-Natal at Vega School

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Ideal:

• Honours Degree / Masters in Digital Design, Multimedia Design, Digital Arts or Interaction Design.

 Alternatively:

• Honours Degree / Masters in Graphic Design or Information Design, BIS Hons or Masters in Multimedia, with at least 3 years experience as a digital designer in a design studio or advertising agency. •MUST show evidence of experience as Digital Designer.​​

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• At least 3 years industry experience, with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to conceptualising and crafting for various kinds of brand communication, marketing and advertising. A solid foundation in UI, UX and Interaction design, 2D and 3D animation, video post-production and Visual Effects is key.
• Experience in mobile front-end design and / or Augmented reality design would be considered a bonus.
• The candidate is required to have a layered portfolio demonstrating her/his ability to engage with complex design challenges and his/her experience and knowledge of the skills listed above.
• Computer literacy essential, experience in Misrosoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint required for academic administration and delivery. High proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite, industry standard 3D modelling and animation software and use of Html5, CSS3 and JavaScript for web design are prerequisites.​

 Key Performance Areas:

• Preparation and lecturing as per the Module Guide
• Teaching curriculum outcomes as per contract hours and stipulated per pre agreed timetable
• Briefing students for assignments and providing feedback in a timeous manner
• Presenting class marks and feedback to the Module Discipline Leader and discuss appropriate interventions for improved student success
• Actively engaging with current trends in teaching and learning strategies within The IIE’ Vega School environment.

 Working Conditions:

• Please note that this is an Independent Contractor position
• Positions are part-time, with lectures taking place between 08:00 and 17:30
