Human Capital Systems Specialist at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To manage the entire integrated Human Capital Management and Payroll System including all activities relating to the development and maintenance of the system for the Ethekwini Municipality.

Special Conditions:

• 24 hour standby as and when required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be physically capable of carrying out the duties of the post.

This post reports to MANAGER (HC SYSTEMS)

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the human capital management and payroll system for the Ethekwini Municipality.
• Performing the full system administration function.
• Maintaining the systems security, backup and disaster recovery plan.
• Implementing and maintaining the payroll system.
• Implement and maintain the Unique Human Capital Management and Payroll System Leave Module.
• Attend to user group meetings to keep up to date with system upgrades and the content thereof.
• Draft statistical, financial and text reports relating to the function and its interaction with all clients and service providers.
• Attends, co-ordinates and chair meetings related to the Human Capital Management and Payroll System.
• Undertake related assignments.

Essential Requirements    

• Relevant tertiary qualification (NQF Level 7)
• 4 Years’ relevant experience including experience in Human Capital Management and
• Payroll systems and exposure to various hardware, development and operating systems platforms.

Preferred Requirements    

• Relevant post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8)
• 6 Years’ relevant experience including experience in Human Capital Management and
• Payroll systems and exposure to various hardware, development and operating systems platforms.
