    HR Consultant Employee Relations

    his role reports to the HR Manager.

    The main responsibilities of this job are:

    • Maintain an IR/ER database.
    • Maintain all administrator records as per legal and company requirement (minutes to hearings etc.).
    • Prepare Line Management (witnesses), documentation and arguments including previous case references in support of procedures.
    • Compile relevant monthly reports on IR/ER incidents and trend analysis.
    • Develop and maintain sound co-operative relationships with internal and external stakeholders (GM’s, Trade unions, Bargaining Council, CCMA and Consultative Forums).
    • Provision of expertise on any IR related issues within the organisation in conjunction with the Senior ER Manager
    • Monitor attendance trends (absenteeism, turnover, work stoppage etc.) and communicate to Line Management possible causes of concern and recommend corrective steps.
    • Alleviate potential IR/ER conflict incidents through the identification of potential IR/ER threats and opportunities and implement action plans to alleviate disputes and advise Line Management accordingly
    • Provision of training in relevant legislation such as grievance procedures, LRA, BCOE.
    • Regular reporting to LOB’s and other relevant stakeholders on BBBEE targets
    • Ensuring that EE targets are met within the business unit.
    • Regular reporting on EE to various stakeholders.
    • Management and control of all EE activities including assisting with the reports to the Department of Labour.
    • Ensuring that all EE activities are adhered to e.g. EE forum, notice boards, training etc.
    • Provision of expertise and advice on any IR issue experienced within LOB’s.
    • Manage and chair disciplinary hearings on behalf of the business unit.
    • Conducting of simple internal IR investigations relating to grievances or disciplinary processes within scope of control
    • Be present at any CCMA, Labour Court or similar within scope of control.
    • Conduct investigations in preparation for CCMA and related hearings within scope of control.

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • NQF6 Human Resources or related qualification
    • 3-5 years in a related field
    • Computer Literacy experience (MS Office, SAP)
