    Head - GTM & Integrated Campaign Management Commercial Operations SA

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy Development and Alignment
    • Formulate the position that the business wants to take in the market along with the competitive advantage that the business has
    • Discuss, collaborate and gather inputs around the GTM strategy and campaigns with the Brand & Marketing as well as Commercial Operations teams
    • Work closely with regional teams to understand and adapt GTM strategies and campaigns in line with localised needs
    • Develop GTM strategies for all MTN SA products by ensuring the availability of the right product at the right price in the right place ensuring alignment with company and Brand & Marketing strategies
    • Identify new opportunities based on customers buying trends and their response to marketing campaigns
    • Drive GTM activities through continuous experimentation and optimization of strategies while predicting the future needs of the market
    • Based on strategy, consistently provide direction, structure, business plans and support to the BUs. This includes identifying required resources, personnel and funding to achieve goals
    • Track market trends and keep up to date on competitor activity in the Telco/Techco industries 

    Operational Delivery Management - GTM Campaign Implementation

    • Co-ordinate operational management and implementation of GTM initiatives and campaigns
    • Monitor implementation of GTM strategies across channels, functions and regions to ensure realisation of growth potential and tailoring the strategies to local needs
    • Provide input into integrated marketing calendar
    • Drive the activities related to campaign design, planning, campaign briefing and campaign execution internally and externally (through agencies)
    • Gather campaign insights and oversee campaign measurement to provide recommendations & optimization
    • Monitor the campaign management and GTM activities in the regions, enterprise, consumer, MFS, wholesale and online teams
    • Communicate GTM strategy to BU heads and ensure delivery in the business units
    • Work closely with regional teams to understand and adapt GTM strategies and campaigns in line with localised needs 

    Budget and Cost Control

    • Drive the GTM budget planning and coordinate with stakeholders across the organisation
    • Coordinate with the finance team to discuss the annual GTM budget
    • Ensure the Efficient allocation and spend of the GTM budget – drive a positive ROI on marketing spend
    • Manage and optimize the budget, Monitor costs and determine initiatives to increase efficiencies and optimize resources - maximize cost/benefit ratios
    • Ensure Vendor and IT costs are effectively managed
    • Manage projects or initiative budgets in line with business objectives

    Governance, Policies and Procedures

    • Design policies that align with overall strategy and reflect the organisation's goals. Develop procedures, policies and work flows to instill clear governance and reporting adherence for GTM activities which take place within the BUs
    • Implement efficient processes and standards within area of responsibility
    • Ensure effective implementation of (and compliance towards) company policies, processes, and procedures. Put effective methods and standards in place in alignment with aforementioned
    • Manage and provide solutions to escalations that have multiple processes / functions impact on critical path of service delivery
    • Continuously review key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions. Proactively flag and escalate issues and manage impacts on resources, cost and productivity
    • Set up and participate in operational and tactical meetings, where required
    • Responsible for a predictive risk view (financial) from an MTN perspective 

    Continuous Improvement

    • Drive continuous improvement on all business development verticals
    • Keep abreast of international best practice, technologies and industry trends. Keep up to date with new products and services and their impact on MTN SA
    • Proactively research relevant best practice and processes, recommending translation of these in the strategic framework
    • Review and encourage team idea generation
    • Lead and/or play an active role in transformational and strategic projects impacting area of responsibility 

    People Leadership /Management

    • Set integrated goals and objectives for the team within MTN in order to achieve a future-focused, future-fit high-performing organisation
    • Provide technical, procedural and policy guidance to staff, colleagues , partners and vendors
    • Attract, develop and retain appropriate talent. Build talent by identifying and developing new leaders for the respective environment
    • Create and implement personal development plans
    • Define the KPAs and KPIs that will be cascaded down to each area
    • Manage Performance and identify training needs. Coach and guide subordinates
    • Enable and model healthy employee relations and collaborative teamwork
    • Manage diversity, develop, and embed an Employment Equity plan for the business area
    • Contribute to building a culture of continuous evaluation and improvement. Drive a culture of high performance, accountability and consequence management
    • Act as an ambassador for the team by living the values and vital behaviours and changing and influencing employees’ behaviour

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelors degree in Commerce, Marketing or related area
    • Post Graduate qualification advantageous

    Experience 

    • Minimum 8 years’ experience including:
    • Minimum 3 years of Senior Management Experience
    • Minimum 5 years managing staff
    • Work across diverse cultures and geographies
    • Experience in Telco industry
    • In depth understanding of MTNs products and services
    • Experience with GTM strategy development and execution
    • Successful track record in Campaign management Experience with Good understanding of the media landscape
