    Group Executive: Manufacturing, Operational and Supply Chain

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
    • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is often preferred.
    • Relevant industry-specific certifications that enhance management and operational skills.

    • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
    • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving

    Duties

    STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP

    • Develop and execute the overall strategy for manufacturing, operations, and supply chain that aligns with corporate goals.
    • Collaborate with the executive team to establish performance metrics, benchmarks, and best practices to ensure operational excellence.

    HEALTH AND SAFETY

    • To lead by example and create a safe and sustainable working environment that adheres to high standard of health and safety in all manufacturing, operational, and supply chain departments globally.
    • Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety, manufacturing and quality standards and procedures are adhered to.

    RISK AND COMPLIANCE

    • To identify and manage total business risks, to advise the Executive team and to implement measures to control risk.
    • To define and implement policies for use throughout the manufacturing, operational and supply chain environment.
    • To ensure compliance in accordance with legislative requirements pertaining to all aspects of the organisation.

    FINANCE

    • Coordinate team activities to optimise cost performance of the operational through capital investment programmes, optimising operating working capital usage and minimising waste through the development of a continuous improvement culture encompassing lean principles and clear strategic development
    • Develop and manage production schedule and operational budgets for products to directly support and ensure that the product is delivered to agreed cost, quality and timelines
    • Manage working capital to optimise cash flows and company liquidity.
    • To continuously assess required financial resources (OPEX and CAPEX) and allocate appropriately to affect required output.

    MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE

    • Oversee all manufacturing processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety in production.
    • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement initiatives to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
    • Drive innovation in manufacturing technologies and processes to reduce costs and improve product quality.

    OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

    • Oversight of the planning and execution of production, ensuring optimal resource allocation and utilization.
    • Monitor and analyze production performance to identify opportunities for improvements and cost reductions.
    • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations related to manufacturing and safety standards.
    • To conduct legal and other negotiations with government and industry stakeholders regarding operational requirements

    SUPPLY CHAIN OPTIMIZATION

    • Develop and manage a global supply chain strategy that supports operational efficiency and product availability.
    • Optimize inventory management practices to maintain the right balance of stock levels while minimizing costs.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of raw materials.

    CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

    • Work closely with R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Environmental Health & Safety teams to align operations with company goals and customer needs.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration and communication across all departments.

    PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

    • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams within manufacturing, operations, and supply chain
    • Identify training and development needs to enhance team capabilities and support career growth.

    OTHER

    • To uphold the organisations image by interfacing with external stakeholders as part of corporate social responsibility.
    • Contribute towards the overall growth and profitability of the Group and engender a style of management that encourages an ethos of excellence and a mind-set of continuous improvement and collaboration within the group environment
