Experimental Facilities Officer (post level 12) at University of the Free State

Duties and responsibilities:

• Organisation, coordination, and implementation of practical trainings for students in the field of agronomy and horticulture.
• Implementation of trials in the field and under controlled conditions.
• Collection of data from trials.

Inherent requirements:

• A 4-year B.Sc. degree on NQF Level 8 in Crop Production or a closely related field OR an Honours of Science degree on NQF Level 8 in Crop Production or a closely related field.

• A minimum of one (1) year’s relevant work experience related to the duties and responsibilities.

Recommendations:

• Affinity of working with large groups of students is important.
• Experience with the implementation of research trials and the analyses of data from trials.
• Practical experience with crop production, farm management, maintenance of equipment and general repair jobs is an advantage.
• A valid driver's license.
