    Data Policies - Data Policy Analyst

    As a Data Policies Analyst, you will become a key member of EY’s Data Policies team within the Data Office (DO).  Within the DO, the Data Policies and Trust team will be responsible for capture and governance process as they pertain to the development and leverage of shared data assets across the EY organization.  The development of data rules and their continued enforcement will be critical to the success of EY’s journey to a data driven organization.

    Your key responsibilities

    The Data Policy Analyst will work closely with Policy Groups (General Counsel’s Office (GCO), Data Protection, Independence, Risk Management, and Service Line Quality) to identify and define data rules to enable broader use of data across EY.  This role will support the Data Policies team to build upon extensible frameworks and existing data rules, including the capture of localized requirements determined by local Policy Groups.  

    Additionally, the Data Policy Analyst will support the Data Policies team to support the design and enablement of technology and processes upon which the data rules are enforced. You will be taking an active role in providing requirements for technology enablement and organizational design.  

    At EY we believe that it is important for the Data Office to be multi-disciplinary. This requires that you demonstrate your ability to expand your area of influence beyond “traditional data governance” and contribute towards a contiguous and market leading data services.  To satisfy these objectives you must be skilled at gathering requirements and coordinating/participating in workshops as a business consultant.

    Skills and Attributes for Success

    • Work closely with Policy Groups at the global, area and local level, together with local business sponsors to capture requirements, document processes and mitigate issues as they arise.   
    • Gather feedback from solution teams and service lines to inform the execution of the various services of the Data Policies capability
    • Support the design and ongoing iteration of procedural documentation
    • Manage, document and track requirements from various stakeholders 
    • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a process and repository for the documentation of governance best practices 
    • Support the implementation of an ongoing communication plan to educate key stakeholders on data policy frameworks

    To qualify for the role, you must have

    • A degree in Business, Computer Science, Law or STEM related discipline or equivalent work experience..
    • Any Data Governance, Quality, Risk Management processes is preferred, but not required
    • 5+ years of total work experience consisting of: 
    • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Information governance or policy design and implementation.  
    • Minimum of 2 years of having been engaged within a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined, globally dispersed team
    • Any Data Governance, Data Protection or Industry certification is preferred 

    Ideally, you’ll also have 

    • Pursue and build relationships across business and technology teams to gather intelligence, insight and understand priorities
    • Responsible for the development of standard processes through the Data Office
    • Provide input into and lead implementation of relevant and meaningful roadmaps and concepts and other deliverables that enables the overall business for better performance
    • Support the development and maintenance of the strategic end to end data lifecycle management
    • Interest in obtaining knowledge of emerging data policy requirements (e.g. GDPR, CCPA)
    • Ability to effectively  project manage and coordinate with internal stakeholders 
    • Strong analytical skills, good knowledge of policy processes and strong team leadership
    • Ability to  analyze and design processes and procedures 
    • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
    • Ability to rapidly comprehend the changes to key business processes and their overall impact
    • Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and motives and to lead virtual cross-cultural, cross-border teams
    • English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication
    • An overall understanding of Policy Group responsibility and activities (e.g. role of GCO, data protection, risk management)
    • Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people and balance demands
    • Self-starter attitude, with ability to work independently 
    • Ability to identify, prioritize and weigh different options and to recommend a value add solution
    • Ability to stay focused on identified priorities
