    Compliance Specialist - Johannesburg

    Job Purpose

    • Subject Matter Expert (SME) role to consult and advise the card business regarding card scheme compliance to ensure abidance to the relevant mandates set forth by the card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and UPI), thereby minimising financial and reputational risk.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Network Adherence: Manage compliance to the Card Networks requirements, for SA and ROA (Visa, Mastercard, Amex and UPI)
    • Manage relationship with Card Schemes
    • Address ad hoc requirements
    • Handle requests and escalations
    • Enforce compliance to all relevant card scheme rules/manuals within the business. 
    • Advise business of changes and identify potential impact of these changes on the business.
    • Ensure awareness of card scheme compliance status.
    • Prevent card scheme compliance breaches and reputational risk from occurring, which could result in financial penalties.
    • Enable management to make informed decisions and prevent compliance breeches.
    • Manage non-compliance issues to resolution. Engage with stakeholders on non-compliance.
    • Provide ongoing support to the business:
    • Security administrator
    • Facilitate the project implementation process.
    • Responding to Card Network notifications.
    • Provide support to Rest of Africa
    • Network Compliance ongoing monitoring
    • High Risk Merchant registration and monitoring optimisation to ensure minimal risk to the business
    • Manage the quarterly ATM location reporting with Amex, Visa and Mastercard
    • Manage and facilitate Nedbank's Attestation of Compliance annually
    • Manage Partner due diligence questionnaire for all Nedbank Org ID's (including ROA)
    • Pre-paid Program:
    • Manage the RPP with Mastercard for all newly onboarded Prepaid products.
    • Manage the annual renewal of all registered pre-paid programs, including the Nedbank products.
    • Manage the annual DCC renewal process with business
    • Capture card scheme mandates that require development into Jira
    • Run the Issuing and Acquiring Weekly Compliance Bulletin Review 
    • Training – ensure relevant staff are aware of requirements e.g. high risk merchant process
    • Supply updates for monthly Business Review pack
    • Assist with Compliance and Audit reviews
    • Contribute to team and development of team strategy
    • Alternate PAC – PASA Authorised Contact
    • Backup for TPPP processes - system approvals, TPPP registrations, industry checks etc.
    • Back up for Service Providers processes, PCI DSS, etc.
    • Promote and facilitate cross Cluster engagement.

    • Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
    • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

    Preferred Certifications

    • PASA Certificate in Foundational Payments
    • Card Scheme online courses

    Minimum Experience Level

    • 5-8 years in a payments environment/ Banking environment.
    • Prior role in card scheme compliance is advantageous.
