    Communications Specialist - Johannesburg

    Job Purpose

    • Support in the implementation of the Communication strategy and collaborate across the Nedbank Insurance business in providing writing capability and guidance on communication needs and requirements.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Create and assist in the development of communication across applicable and relevant platforms as per business requirements.
    • Ensure all communication adheres to the approved guidelines to fulfill the Nedbank Insurance and Nedbank brand Corporate Identity.
    • Compile and co-ordinate verbal and written engagement for both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Promote the Nedbank Insurance brand using appropriate communication channels to enhance the communications mix and drive value for target audience.
    • Have a clear understanding of intended audience when compiling communication write up.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
    • Have strong communication and copywriting skills.
    • Apply plain language to all content and communication.
    • Be knowledgeable on communication trends and share input on how to best apply those.
    • Develop and/or assist in development of communication strategies across the applicable/relevant spectrum of communication disciplines including management, media, public relations, internal and external communications, brand marketing, advertising, digital and social media to deliver on business objectives.
    • Verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders that promote the brand and our client value proposition.
    • Apply knowledge of the communication fi eld, industry and trends by providing advice, input and recommendation on business strategy and communication plan.
    • Drive content across client journey and ensure alignment on style, voice and tonality across channels.
    • Collaborating with multi-discipline practitioners and project stakeholders.
    • Align all content to our brand strategy, essence and promise producing content that grows share of voice including client education, thought leadership pieces and social media.
    • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance and managing role and responsibilities.

    People Specification

    Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

    • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

    Preferred Qualification

    • BA Journalism and Media Studies / BA (Language and Literature) / BA (Communication)

    Preferred Certifications

    • Certification in UX Writing, Content Strategy, UX or Design.

    Minimum Experience Level

    • 8+ years in Communications and preferably 3+ years Insurance experience.
