    Communications and Marketing Associate

    Required Experience: 

    2+ years’ experience within a marketing or communications focused role with a proven ability to manage multiple marketing projects at once; must have experience in content creation and creative writing; must be a strong team player with ability to work with and support various departments and team members; should have experience building and managing social media platforms such as Facebook and be on top of marketing trends

    Advantageous: Experienced with Canva; demonstrated interest in education, social innovation, entrepreneurship, EdTech and/or social impact

    Minimum Qualifications: Diploma or degree in digital marketing, communications, marketing or public relations.
    Attitude and Other Attributes: Injini is a small but growing organisation and needs a strong team of entrepreneurially-minded and driven people. Having only been established five years ago, Injini still functions like a startup itself, so a team player is necessary.
    We’re looking for a candidate with relevant marketing skills and the capacity to hit the ground running in the organisation with support from the Communications Manager.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:


    This role will focus on working with the various departments within Injini, with a focus on promoting the work we do through our Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship Program. In this role, you will be heavily involved in implementing the marketing and communications plan, with a large focus on social media.

    The Communications and Marketing Associate will report directly to the Communications Manager. This role will be responsible for the production of communications and marketing content for Injini and EdTech startups participating in Injini’s various programmes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Communications and marketing strategy: Support in planning, implementing and monitoring the marketing and communication strategy for Injini;
    • Media engagement: Assist with media outreach, giving you the opportunity to develop or build upon critical stakeholder management skills;
    • Content creation: Content generation for Injini’s blog and social media platforms (design work, if needed, can be done on Canva or briefed into shared services with UVU Africa).
    • This includes coordinating with other members of the team as well as EdTech entrepreneurs to generate relevant and impactful content;
    • Social media: Manage Injini’s social media platforms;
    • Analysing data: Assist to measure the effectiveness of Injini's marketing campaigns.
    • This involves tracking website traffic, social media engagement, conversion rates, and other metrics to ensure that marketing efforts are successful;
    • Administration: Provide planning and logistical support and execution for any Injini events.

    •  A willingness to learn new platforms
    •  Knowledge of and experience with Google docs and Canva


    CONTRACT DETAILS:

    •  Full-time, permanent position (with three-month probation period)
    •  Remuneration: Competitive market related salary for non-profit benchmarking, starting at R280 000 per annum. Additional incentives above base remuneration to be discussed.
