    Commercial Planning Manager

    Job Role

    To develop and implement innovative Planning systems and procedures for the Cellular department by collaborating with internal and through analysing, investigating and developing internal procedures, for the purpose of operational efficiencies and optimised profitability.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BCom or tertiary qualification in a relevant field - Degree/Diploma
    • CA qualification would be advantageous
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience within a similar environment (industry and role)
    • Leadership course (desirable)
    • Experience working in an Agile environment (desirable)
    • Excellent Business acumen

    Skills:

    • Ability to high-level strategical thinking
    • High level of EQ (Emotional Intelligence)
    • Ability to develop strong relationships both internally and externally
    • Strategy creation for business growth using data analytics
    • Understand and develop pricing structures to enable maximum profitability through indexing interest rates payable, receivable, value of money over time.
    • Strong numerical skills that will determine the way in which procurement will be done that will be most effective and profitable for Flash Group
    • Pricing and profitability structures for 3rd party vendors through Flash Switch
    • Risk management: identify biggest risks within the department and put processes and measurements in place to mitigate these risks
    • Proficiency in the latest Microsoft applications including Advanced Excel
    • Sound Business Acumen
    • Proficient in planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling
    • Effective Project Management skills
    • High-level presentation skills
    • Ability to manage a team and work together with a team
    • Time management

    Job Related Knowledge:

    • Proven track record of developing customized proposals that win new business.
    • Knowledge of retail merchandise cycle with regards to Buying, Planning, Logistics and Stores
    • System knowledge of planning systems such as Just Enough, EP, Product forecasting mechanisms
    • A comprehensive knowledge of RSA, BLNS and other neighboring countries dealing in the cellular retail Market; understanding their customers and competitors, and knowledge of cellular products.
    • Knowledge of Replenishment – principles & methodologies

    Responsibilities:

    • To deliver the consolidated seasonal merchandise plans, location plans, assortment plans and monthly forecasts to the relevant stakeholders
    • To consistently ensure the execution of consolidated Cellular merchandise plans, location plans and assortment plans to meet the specified KPI’s:
    • Sales Growth %
    • GP Rands
    • Stock turn (over 12 months)
    • CPY Sell off
    • DC service levels
    • SKU availability to displayed stock (VM)
    • Closing stock on hand
    • To provide accurate and on-time business information, align actions and manage deviations in order to achieve agreed merchandise objectives.
    • To develop and empower the planning team by implementing sound people management practices, employee relations and a climate and culture of high performance.
