• We are looking for a passionate Chief Financial Officer to join our executive team. You will report directly to the CEO and lead our superb in-house finance team. Your duties will include managing all financial and commercial operations, assessing and improving existing initiatives and devising new strategies to increase revenue & profitability.
• To be successful in this role, you will be able to tailor marketing strategies to complement the organization’s objectives and meet targets. You will have excellent leadership and communication skills to successfully provide guidance to your team, and you will have a vast knowledge of current financial and commercial trends for technology consulting businesses.
• This role will need to carry a very high degree of urgency as well as being part of a hyper-scale business plan and strategy. Successful execution of the role will earn exceptional rewards in terms of salary, profit share and equity participation especially considering hyperscale growth

Role Responsibilities

Finance:

• Develop & implement financial accounting & controls
• Develop & implement project accounting, reporting and controls
• Develop & implement budgeting
• Ensure accurate and timeous financial reporting to management teams
• Grow high performing team and drive throughput

Oversee payroll & benefits

• Develop and implement asset management strategy for the business
• Oversee full internal and external audit process
• Deciding on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
• Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies, generally safeguard the resources of the business
• Manage forex risk related to projects and proposals outside of SA
• Ensure regulatory and tax compliance
• Drive the budgeting and forecasting process

Tax planning

• Develop finance strategies to drive business growth
• Develop and implement a procurement strategy

Commercials:

• Drive the business activities and decisions within the budget framework and target revenue & margin levels
• Provide commercial input and terms related to sales proposals
• Implement processes for Business Unit Managers, Industry Leads and Practice Managers to run their business units
• Develop and implement pricing strategy for the business
• Implement price increases with Sales teams & clients
• Develop and implement contracts management strategy
• Manage all client contracts – SLA’s, projects and re-seller contracts
• Manage all sub-contractors / vendors and negotiate optimal rates & margins
• Manage all business contracting, MSA, NDA, re-seller contracting, lease agreements, etc.
• Develop and implement business key performance indicators
• Analytics - conduct business analyses, performance analyses, competitive analyses & report back to operation

Systems:

Work with CTO to Implement and manage internal technology automation systems for finance, timesheets, planning, business unit flash’s’, professional services automation, procurement, etc.

BEE:

• Own the BEE scorecard for BlueSky and ensure L1 is achieved by Feb 2022
• Work with specialist BEE consultants against SLA
• Drive the scorecard metrics from a commercial point of view

Key Performance Indicators (KPI's):

• Overall responsibility for finance and commercials – chief financial officer
• Drive the margins and revenue against budget
• Performance manages the finance resources against targets
• Scale the team related to the business growth and strategies
• Debtors’ days <40 consistently on-going
• Ensure cost-effective procurement
• Achieve level 1 BEE by Feb 2022

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, finance, or related field
• A Master's degree or an MBA may be highly desirable

CA (SA)

• Experience listing a company highly desirable
• Experience with M&A highly desirable
• More than 5 years' proven experience in a CFO / finance exec management role
• Understanding of technology vendor relationships and contracting
• Demonstrate experience working in a financial and strategic planning position
• Impressive track record delivering management level opinions and analyses to senior executives
• Self-motivated and excellent inter-personal communication skills
• Excellent analytical and leadership skills
• Creative and entrepreneurial spirit
