Category Manager - Online at Pick n Pay Stores Limited

Job Advert Summary    

• This exciting opportunity exists in our Online Shopping Division at our Kensington Offices in Johannesburg. We are looking for a customer centric Category Manager to manage the end-to-end sales and profitability of a category through the analysis of profit margin, sales data and inventory levels.

Minimum Requirements    

• Relevant Degree/Diploma qualification advantageous
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in Category Management 
• SAP &BW knowledge advantageous
• Previous experience in the FMCG industry will be advantageous
• Previous experience within the retail environment advantageous 
• Proficiency in MS Excel essential
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Assortment Optimisation –Compile and review online category plan and ensure ranges and customer experience is in line with the role of category
• Develops the best possible customer proposition by implementing assortment planning based on data and customer analytics, being competitively priced, ensuring attractive promotions and a visually appealing and customer centric website
• Drives online sales and profit –drives new and creative sales growth strategies and drives everyday pricing strategy and online promotional strategies and plans
• Manages each product category in a way that enables maximum consumer appeal while maximizing profits
• Increase market share –Sources products, identifies launches and content to drive online awareness and seeks new opportunities for online marketing campaigns
• Drives merchant behavior –provides thought leadership and awareness amongst merchants and suppliers 
• Stock management – ensures correct stock levels to meet sales demands across all platforms
