Job Objectives

• Growing programmes: planning/implementation thereof
• Product purchase price
• Sales and gross profit for own buying category
• Maintaining shortage on order /product wastage within acceptable levels
• Product management, including quality
• Food safety systems at Producers
• Regular farm/ opposition and market visits
• Packaging stock levels
• Promotions
• Acquiring accurate/relevant management information
• Adhering to Company Policy on Buying and Trading Procedures
• Assisting with general management duties

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with a relevant tertiary qualification 

Experience

• A thorough knowledge of fruit and vegetables is essential.
• Previous trading experience is a requirement.
• Management experience in a packhouse environment will be an advantage

Knowledge and Skills

• Good all round computer skills are essential.
• Communication and interpersonal skills at staff, management and supplier level are essential.
