    Auditor - Technology Audit.Group Internal Audit and Forensics

    Job Description

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • The Auditor: Technology role is responsible to achieve the following objectives:

    Audit Management 

    • Assist the Senior Manager in the execution of technology systems and processes audit plans, to identify risks and vulnerabilities in control areas and to ensure that processes and systems comply with company policies, and statutory and regulatory policies.
    • Serves as an active member of the audit team directly executing medium/high priority/risk internal audits on the technology systems and processes: through analysing reports and logs, conducting system and process audits, testing, preparing database updates, providing status reports and preparing final audit reports on assignments carried out, in line with internal audit standards and methodologies.
    • Ensure that audits and assessments consider the effectiveness of the control areas, such as: application controls, cyber and information security, change management, business resilience and disaster recovery reviews, IT project management, IT project governance, IT risk management, information technology systems and infrastructures process and control reviews.
    • Measure/evaluate technology systems and processes compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements and the company's policies and procedures.
    • Track and follow up on audit findings and update respective trackers and stakeholders regularly. 

    Audit Advisory 

    • Provide analysis on technology systems and processes internal audit data, identifying vulnerabilities in IT systems and internal policies, trends on IT systems failures, inconsistencies, weaknesses in the control areas. Report these findings to management with recommendations on possible mitigations and enhancements.
    • Recommend changes to IT systems and processes, based on internal policies, best practice and continuous change in available technologies.
    • Provide recommendations on improvements to ensure an increasingly robust internal audit processes, which aims to reduce technology and information security risks.
    • Carry out regular, comprehensive and holistic information security and IT systems control assessments, to identify risks and areas that need focus.
    • Keep up to date with new technology solutions to mitigate/change IT systems security vulnerabilities and provides reporting on these solutions.
    • Maintain relationships with management of assigned functional/business units to provide a value-added service.

    Reporting 

    • Assist the management to provide oversight on OpCo reporting, OpCo coordination, OpCo support and OpCo Technology Audit operations.
    • Assist with compilation of reports for reporting and Audit Committee engaging various stakeholders in Opcos to ensure a comprehensive report.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Education:

    • Minimum 3-year Diploma Engineering, Information Systems and Computer Systems/Science 
    • Preferred, 4-year Bachelor of Engineering/ Information Systems and Computer Science/ Bachelor of Science
    • Preferred, CISA / CISSP

    Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in internal audit, specifically in IT system and processes audits
    • Experience in presenting audit reports to senior stakeholders
    • Data gathering, research and analytical abilities to develop insightful conclusions
    • Experience in supervising and coordinating output 
    • Experience working in a medium organisation
    • Experience in working under pressure and delivering under tight deadlines

    Manager - Commercial FibreCo.Bayobab

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

    • The Manager - Commercial FibreCo is responsible for the development of the various FibreCo costing, pricing and operating models for the Bayobab capacity and services portfolio. They will also be responsible for contributing towards the establishment and implementation of the costing and pricing principles and methodologies. The role will ensure that Bayobab improves on revenues streams by enhancing its competitive position in the wholesale business and international carrier relations business (for wholesale customers, OpCos and GEBU demand requirements) while improving its overall margins on new and existing business.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)

    The Manager - Commercial FibreCo will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Develop the strategy for optimizing and managing costing framework for Bayobab capacity across Fibreco’s.
    • Develop and implement costing principles that will be applied to set the prices and other charges including price caps, price guidelines and other price controls for the various products
    • Carry out all necessary studies, analyses and cost calculations with the aim of minimizing the cost of international services by developing relationships with 3rd party suppliers and partners in the FibreCo markets
    • Derive the pricing principles based on market trends and market analysis for price benchmarking purposes in order to maintain relevant price books.
    • Align with the various internal teams, particularly the tax and compliance teams in order to manage issues relating to withholding taxes, transfer pricing and ensure full alignment to group policy.
    • Identify the Bayobab submarine connectivity costs and pricing by analyzing the competitive environment from a global perspective and collating inputs from the Fibreco’s on competitive offers received for international connectivity
    • Gather OpCo’s terrestrial connectivity costing inputs, with focus on the wholesale components for backhaul and last mile from the cable landing stations
    • Support in the sourcing of 3rd party connectivity when required, ensuring to meet the target price and quality requirements
    • Provide support to the product management teams on product development and pricing as relates to multi-OpCo and Fibreco infrastructure 
    • Ensure connectivity sourcing deals afford optimal benefit to Bayobab and MTN’s clients, considering price, quality, SLAs and speed of delivery

    Role Deliverables

    • Operating Model framework for Bayobab capacity and services
    • Costing and pricing strategy of wholesale fixed connectivity solutions (subsea and terrestrial)
    • Support the pricing methodologies for Fibreco’s, Opcos and External partners for all connectivity services

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

    Education:

    • Minimum 4-year Academic Degree (Commerce, BBA, Engineering or Business Science) 
    • Post graduate qualification MBA/Masters (Commerce, Engineering, Science) preferred 
    • English, with French as an advantage

    Experience:

    • 5+ years relevant cost modelling and pricing experience in the fixed line international telecommunication industry preferably in carrier business with a good technical understanding as well.

    Competencies:

    • Able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment
    • Strong analytical skills to adequately anticipate demand & provide recommendations for decision making

    Senior Manager - Firewall Management

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Mission

    • The Senior Manager: Firewall Management will be responsible for managing all firewall administration tasks over different firewall technologies for tier one, two and three OpCos.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Key Performance Areas:

    The Senior Manager Firewall management is responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Manage and monitor detailed business plans for Firewall Management in accordance with the frameworks, goals and targets agreed for the holistic Group Cyber Defence function.
    • Manage the Firewall Management contribution to the delivery of the holistic cybersecurity mandate and commitment.
    • Oversee and manage the strategic alignment of the Group Firewall Management operations and in-country Firewall Management services performed by OpCos.
    • Manage and oversee the development, maintenance and implementation of required strategies and plans for Firewall Management in order to ensure efficient and effective Firewall Management contribution to the broader Group CSOC objectives.
    • Summarise, consolidate and finalise the preparation of Firewall Management documents for MTN Information Security Leadership and MTN Group Leadership.
    • Track, monitor and report on the Firewall Management expenditure.
    • Ensure reporting requirements are complied with and accurate information is disseminated to support specific decisions or actions.
    • Participate in the recruitment and selection of Firewall Management resources according to organisation structure, job requirements, EE targets and guidelines.
    • Lead, mentor and empower employees and manage change within Firewall Management to ensure a positive work environment in which employees develop and perform optimally. 
    • Develop performance contracts for Firewall Management resources and ensure all work is completed in compliance with the performance contract.

    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure Firewall Management information, advice or opinions on relevant matters is made available and/ or communicated appropriately and timeously.
    • Manage the relationship between Firewall Management resources at a Group and Opco level, as well as the processes that support this relationship, in order to maximise a collaborative working relationship between MTN Group and its OpCos. 
    • Establish good external working relationships and collaborative arrangements with external service providers, cyber community of practices and/or other organisations to help achieve the goals of Firewall Management. 
    • Represent the MTN Group CSOC at various forums and committees with a specific focus on Firewall Management.
    • Empower all relevant stakeholders by ensuring information, advice or opinions on relevant Firewall Management matters are made available and clearly communicated through various channels and platforms.
    • Ensure compliance to all MTN policies and procedures, as well as country specific regulation for the OpCos where Firewall Management delivers services. 
    • Direct and ensure adherence to MTN compliance standards and risk management practices during the delivery of Firewall Management services.
    • Maintain knowledge of and monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment, review and approve the systems that ensure compliance of Firewall Management and reduce risk and oversee implementation thereof.
    • Approve and manage Service Level Agreements or contracts within levels of authority for Firewall Management.
    • Enable efficient and effective decision making within Firewall Management, risks are anticipated and mitigated to prevent a disaster or serious financial loss and compliance systems are in place and adhered to.
    • Monitor active Firewall Management projects on a daily basis.
    • Ensure that no notable deviations from the initial prevision are made, and fixing such deviations should this be necessary.
    • Provide oversight on the planning of tasks and the setting of delivery dates.
    • Analyse improvements and recommendations help increase efficiency of tasks performed by subordinates.
    • Manage the correct management of MTN firewalls, oversee the change management process and remediation tasks for device unavailability or failure.
    • Ensure Firewall Management activity is aligned to the defined procedure per environment or device.
    • Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of Firewall Management services for MTN Group and its OpCos.

    Education:

    Experience:

    • 8 years of relevant work experience in Firewall Management.
    • 2-3 years of experience at the Senior Management level in the telecom industry.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience in technological solutions and security tools related to Firewall Management.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience handling tools used during the execution of Firewall Management projects, ensuring their operation and update at all times.

    Other

    • Fluent in English 
    • Multi-country operations oversight experience 
    • Willing and flexible to travel within Africa 
    • Understanding of general regulatory requirements in the telecom industry as it relates to Cyber Firewall Management
