    Business Unit Manager - Chloorkop

    Job Description    
    Sales Management

    • Ensure that all functions affecting the Business Unit are operating as optimally as possible. Oversee and control margins.
    • Ensure that division profitability is above the average as compared with similar businesses in the market place
    • Ensure healthy working platform being materialised in line with division and company objectives
    • Meeting tight deadlines across the business
    • Ensure market data is relevant and updated – market intelligence
    • Price negotiations at senior levels

    People Management

    • Ensuring that staff is motivated, driven and discharging duties to achieve targets set. Manage KPI process.
    • Ensure that all Sales representatives share the common goal as set out in the strategic plan
    • Manage, assist and coach sales team including joint calling on customers
    • Directing and assertively pushing the sales team to promote new products and look at new markets
    • Ensure the sales team is working with CRM, working platform and other systems and it is updated regularly

    Communication

    • Maintain healthy relationships with manufacturing, technical, accounts and warehouse departments
    • Forecasting on a monthly basis
    • Reporting back on monthly sales vs previous year vs budget with comments

    Strategic

    • Ensuring BU is operating in the right segments – exit strategically if needed
    • Ensure regular contact with technology principals to update technology and strengthen relationships
    • Ensure that the product range is maintained within reasonable limits
    • Setting a clear sales strategy for local and abroad markets
    • Actively looking for opportunities outside the current portfolio for possible acquisitions
    • Manage product range to include new technology partners and product based on market demand
    • Industry/market knowledge within all current industries responsible for
    • Attending conference as needed within the industry
    • 12 month and 24 month budgeting and Strategizing the business outlook for 3-5 years and ensure materialization of objectives
    • Stock and Working capital Management
    • Ensure that working capital ratios are maintained within the Groups requirements
    • Maintain debtors days, no bad debts, stock holding targets are met and sales team is taking stock as per forecast

    Legal

    • Scrutinizing contracts and raising concerns
    • Ensure compliance legally as well as company policy
    • Interaction with AECI Head office for legal, risk and Governance

    Customer Management

    • Visit Senior Customers regularly and other customers when needed – relationship building at high levels
    • Managing a portfolio of key account customers including healthy and active multilevel relationships
    • Technical presentations at customers on new product launches

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Technical/Chemical background
    • Bachelors degree or Advanced Diploma
    • Drivers Licence
    • MMDP level business post study or higher
    • BSc in Chemistry would be a benefit
    • At least 5 years of Key Account Management experience; or
    • 5 years Sales management experience
    • Sales experience within Mining and manufacturing/Industrial environments beneficial
    • Must have sound understanding of pricing structures, Contracts and Cost drivers
    • Must currently be in the Chemical Industry and calling on customers
