    Business Manager - Commercial and Operations

    Job Summary 

    You will be working as Business Manager - Commercial and Operations - ELDS based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Global Switchgear Business Line Manager and will be responsible for commercial (sales and marketing) activities and operational accountabilities. Fully responsible for running the day-to-day operations and overachieving customer expectations through lean, faultless operational execution (Care, Customer, Cost, Cash), in an extended and sustainable value chain. Drive the business by developing and executing a long-term strategy with local and global stakeholders, putting the customer first.

    Your responsibilities

    • Creating a strong and well recognized leadership team, with a speak up culture, fostering a culture of empowerment, transparency, collaboration and inclusion where everyone puts our customers at the center
    • Safeguarding a strong license to operate on integer behavior, safety and sustainability, guaranteeing equal opportunity and driving a strong adherence to policies, coaching newly appointed mid-managers to drive the new culture and taking accountability with courage
    • Transformation of factory lead to market and customer focused, winning customers by fulfilling promises (on time delivery, high quality, fast response)
    • Accelerating growth, ensuring focus on competitive offering and position – increase local manufacturing volume to have optimal utilization of manufacturing capacity
    • Diversifying volume risk from local market by extending customer base beyond Top10 customers for sustainable growth, focusing on developing the assigned export markets by becoming the “partner of choice” for the sales teams in the region
    • P&L management, with optimization of cost, quality, cash and customer experience, ensuring continuous improvement culture and align capacity with market demands to secure profitability
    • Ensuring high level of end-to-end transparency within the factory and export markets, ensuring alignment on go-to-market (how we serve specific market segments in the region) and executing segment specific sales plans across business lines
    • Securing simple internal business model that is predictable, fair and easy to apply, leading the development and regular updating of a long-term ambition plan for the local unit

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or business management
    • 6 - 8 years of experience in a management role
    • Experience in sales, operations, switchgear and electrification business.
    • Preference will be given to employment equity candidates.
