    BBS Lean Engineer Global Grade 12

    Key Outputs

    The Lean Engineer is responsible for providing leadership, facilitation, analysis, and design tasks to develop and improve BBS applications solutions which may incorporate IT and Digital tools to derive business value. Provide lean problem-solving support and automation tools/applications across all regions and countries in which Barloworld Equipment operates across Southern Africa

    • Understand IT business drivers and capabilities, define requirements, principles and models that guide decisions for the organisation based on BBS and business requirements.
    • Develop reporting systems that provide accessible information for decision making, including standard reports, functional dashboards and specialist IT tools arising from BBS events.
    • Provide specialist knowledge of software technology, programming languages.
    • Able to develop Digital and Technical IT solutions throughout the software lifecycle development (SLDC) process in conjunction with the Digital and IT department.
    • Apply Innovative thinking in both Digital and Information Technology for continuous process improvements identified within BBS events.
    • Coach and transfer knowledge by working side-by-side to develop internal change-agent behaviours that build a culture of engagement, daily problem-solving, and respect for people.
    • Identify, collect, analyse, and present data to identify trends and potential problem areas to drive actionable improvement initiatives.
    • Supporting the client in the planning, preparation, and implementation of Change, Improvements and Problem-Solving Events. This includes the ability to identify, collect, analyse and present data to enable better decision making.
    • Completing detailed analytics to support the Rapid Improvement Event teams’ pre- and post-event efforts.
    • Look for opportunities to use value-stream thinking to improve the deployment of new technologies and digital information flows.
    • Ensure Digital and IT improvement solutions are aligned with the business goals and objectives

    Qualification, Experience and Competencies

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • Engineering / IT /Commerce Degree
    • Lean or Six-sigma Black belt certification would be advantageous

    Minimum Required Experience:

    • Experience in a Lean / Digital / IT environment
    • Advanced experience on the windows platform, including MS Office Professional (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project and Outlook) Power BI and Visio
    • Proven track record of various application development tools.
    • Proven experience in Power BI and data analysis

    Additional Skills and Knowledge Required:

    • Knowledge and application of Lean principles, tools, and techniques
    • Strong business acumen and an ability to communicate within various business settings and industries.
    • Ability to develop and sustain key relationships.
    • Willing and able to work in multi-cultural environments.
    • Knowledge of solution development and deployment
