Job Purpose

• Promotes coffee by educating customers on the variety of coffee available, selling coffee and supplies, preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold drinks, along with serving food and dessert items.

Responsibilities

Administration

• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply
• Stocking coffee brewing equipment
• Maintaining supplies for front-of-house service and for coffee bar
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions
• Troubleshooting breakdowns
• Maintaining supplies
• Performing preventive maintenance
• Calling for repairs
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes;
• Implementing changes
• Maintaining and improving the appearance of the coffee bar
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications

Coffee preparation and customer service

• Welcomes customers and determines their coffee interests and needs
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, cafe latte, and cappuccino
• Ensures good standards of customer service are followed and always improving on this service to meet customers needs
• Will look after the Executives, keeping their fridges stocked and attending to all boardroom meetings

Knowledge Updates

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications
