    Manager: Business Development

    Job description

    The G Band Manager: Business Development role is based within Enterprise Business Unit

    The role of the Manager: Business Development is to manage complex bid/tender response process, facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration (channels, partners, vendors and service providers); provide strategic support in responding on strategic opportunities (bids and tenders). Support the Business to achieve the sales & revenue targets by delivering a structured and cross functional capability in the disciplines of: pipeline management, sales planning and reporting; customer level analysis; commercial management in the areas of bid structure, profitability governance, contract negotiation support, conversion of order to revenue; dashboard development, cross-functional improvement plans & development and execution of Vodacom initiatives.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Market and competition analysis, subject matter research to localise proposals
    • Manage bid/tender response process – facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration across all African markets
    • Support channels to prepare commercial proposals for complex software products
    • Introduce a structured pipeline management process and preparation of executive level sales reporting
    • Support channels with contract management
    • Enterprise Contract (channel specific)
    • Service Schedule (product specific)
    • Statement of Work/Product
    • Definition Document (PDD)
    • Payment schedule (channel specific)
    • Service Level Agreement (SLA)

    Key performance indicators

    • Bid win and capture rates
    • Total Contract Value won in each Financial Year
    • Pipeline coverage including integrity & reporting

    The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

    • University degree in quantitative subject and postgraduate business qualification or minimum 5 years’ experience in an analytical environment
    • Good technical and commercial writing skills
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in preparing commercial proposals for ICT propositions.
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Word formatting (proposal presentation) and Excel skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Good presentation and communication skills

    The base location for this role is Midrand, Commercial Park
