    Scanning Clerk

    Job description

    POSITION: Scanning Clerk

    PURPOSE:

    Opens, sorts, barcode, scan, batch and delivers all incoming mail daily according to the standard operating procedures and Service Level Agreement [SLA]

    KEY OBJECTIVE AND KEY STANDARDS

    KEY OBJECTIVE

    Ensure that all documents have been correctly scanned according to project specification and to rescan any pages that are of unacceptable quality in terms of scan marks or illegibility.

    Ensure that all documents have been correctly indexed according to project specification and to combine and or separate documents if necessary.

    POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

    • EDUCATIONAL (Minimum level necessary to perform the job).
    • School Grade 12
    • Professional / Tertiary Office Management or Administration Diploma or Degree

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of 1 year experience in the Medical aid/Insurance industry advantageous
    • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Scanning environment (preferably in a medical aid/ Insurance administration environment will be an advantage)
    • Driver’s license advantageous
    • Deliver and maintain own work standards and quality
    • Computer Literacy

    EXPERIENCE (Minimum necessary before being considered for the Job)

    • 1 – 3 years relevant industry experience

    TRAINING (Essential training received in addition to the above experience to perform the job).

    • Training of company related applications, e.g. Compcare, Penscare, and Internal operations procedures

    PERIOD OF ON-THE-JOB TRAINING

    • 1 Day - 5 Day company in – house induction course
