    Driver Trainer

    Job description

    Main purpose is to conduct driver training for the UD Trucks Dealer network and Fleet Customers to ensure that vehicles are utilised optimally.

    Job Objectives

    Operational

    • To develop and customise training courses with new product information, and maintain Course Material to ensure that it remain current.
    • Responsible to ensure that training materials/equipment (lecture rooms and vehicles) are ready and available, before commencement of the course. To be in accordance with course requirements and the QMS.
    • To facilitate driver training courses, locally (Rosslyn) and regionally (South Africa and Africa), on the UD Trucks product range.
    • To conduct assessments (practical and theoretical tests on students) in line with SAQA and QMS requirements.
    • Responsible to ensure effective and efficient Administration on training documentation (attendance registers, feedback reports – student and trainer.
    • Responsible to do effective and efficient feedback via reports to clients on attendees’ performance and results, and make suggestions on further training needs where applicable.

    Client

    • To develop and customise training courses with new product information, and maintain Course Material to ensure that it remain current.
    • To ensure that logistical arrangements for training are in place.

    Education

    • Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • Certificate in ETD or related field (outcomes based education; training facilitation skills, assessment) an advantage.
    • Registered Assessor (advantageous).
    • Code 14 Driver’s License (essential).
    • Ability to speak at least one African language a definite advantage.

    Job Experience

    2-4 years in a similar position.

    Job Knowledge

    • Quality Management Systems (Training best practices) (essential).
    • Industry knowledge (Heavy Trucking) (essential).
    • Knowledge of assessment practices.
    • Course development (advantageous).


    Job Related Skills

    • Oral and written communication skills (essential).
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Presentation skills.
    • Excellent driving skills on commercial vehicles (essential) – practical test to be conducted.
    • Computer literacy (MS Office: MS Word & PP – Intermediate)
    • Maintain discipline, and provide direction.
