The Talent Acquisition team is searching for a Management Accountant to join the dynamic and demanding Commercial team. This role will be based at our colourful and collaborative office in Westville, Durban and report to the Commercial Manager.

The ideal candidate will be a capable and experienced Management Accountant who has the ability to provide commercial support and insights to Front End Retail Wholesale and Sundry Customer Teams across all categories, that allow them to make better business decisions and optimise investment, with regards product pricing, mix optimization and profitability.

In addition to the above the Management Accountant will be required to manage the on-going advancement of standard commercial reports that will provide insight, stimulate further discussion and assist in decision making.

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom (Hons) Or completed CIMA or Qualified CA(SA).
• 2-3 Years’ post article experience including people management and preferably including commercial operational experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Pricing Support;
• Provide prompt and accurate pricing information for the price negotiations & reporting and insight to customer teams to aid in commercial understanding of pricing decisions.
• Assist in tracking product and channel profitability objectives through appropriate engagement and reporting.
• Provide continuous pricing support regarding profitability to ensure that products are sold at optimal margins.
• Customer and Product Profitability Reporting;
• Conduct analysis including:
• Customer and Product Performance
• Mix comparisons
• Market positioning
• Category and brand growth strategy and opportunities
• Margin improvement opportunities
• Volume and margin evaluation opportunities.
• Provide BU support by providing input on forecasted profitability and mix.
• Business Partnering;
• Support customer front end teams in the use of system tools and respond to queries
• Develop the relationship and mechanism required to ensure you are actively engaged timeously on business decisions impacting product and customer and provide the profitability impact to aid in quick and better decision making.
• Financial management;
• Proactively investigates root causes of exceptional performance, both good and bad
• Identifies and highlights emerging trends, threats and opportunities with recommended actions to address where appropriate (red flagging)
• Develop and manage financial models and analytical models/ analysis.
