    Reward Consulting Associate Director

    Job Description

    Work you’ll do

    The Reward Consulting Associate Director will be responsible for profitable revenue growth and operational management of the Executive Compensation Practice, directing and delivery on complex reward engagements. The role also includes specific knowledge and ability to sell and delivery our full range of Reward services including; remuneration and benefits consulting, incentive scheme design, review and implementation, analysis and review of remuneration and reward processes and levels, salary survey design and execution. In addition they are responsible for relationship building, business development defined and sales to a portfolio of clients, talent management and wellbeing of their team as well as working capital management. The role includes leadership and management at the level of AD and must live the Deloitte values.

    Key Performance Areas

    Strategic Impact:

    • Give meaningful input into the development of strategy of the Service Line / Business Area in relation to specific area of expertise
    • Implements the strategy within area of business through detailed plan including:
    • Client targets to achieve revenue
    • Marketing plan
    • People plan to deliver on goals
    • Communication plan
    • Contingency plan for possible additional resources e.g. contractors
    • Tracking of plans
    • Identifies innovative solutions to enhance / renew service offerings to market
    • Heads up sales presentation teams for new and retained business
    • Leads negotiations with clients
    • Actively identifies multiple sales opportunities and leads pursuit process
    • Leads/contributes to preparation of proposals/tenders and presentations
    • Builds relationships across service lines for cross-selling opportunities and combined engagement pursuits
    • Drives own client portfolio and profitable book of business

    Budgets / Profitability:

    • Manages margins effectively through correct budgeting, pricing and profitability management
    • Monitors that time and expenses to engagements are recorded and submitted weekly
    • Negotiates pricing for engagements to ensure profitability whilst maintaining client interests
    • Manages WIP – billings and cash collections

    Reward Consulting Specialisation:

    • Core Total Rewards
    • Total Rewards Technical Knowledge & Strategy
    • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the vendors, technology solutions, and trends in the total rewards marketplace;
    • Leads clients through the visioning process for rewards redesign initiatives.

    Analysis & Synthesis of Information

    • Demonstrates the ability to probe resource data to identify hidden issues and answers;
    • Synthesizes data to find creative solutions to client issues;
    • Capable of providing guidance/leadership to focus/produce results that are accepted by clients
    • Written & Verbal Communications
    • Demonstrates skill at using communications presentations to gain client acceptance and understanding.

    Compensation Advisory

    • Total Compensation Philosophy & Strategy
    • Demonstrates deep knowledge of compensation regulations, particularly the accounting and tax implications on client results.
    • Monitors and oversees the implementation of total compensation philosophy and strategies for differing levels of employment and different business circumstances and links to compensation plan designs.
    • Develops long term and short term incentive programmes
    • Advises senior executive level clients and committees on reward strategies

    Prescribed Methods & Tools

    • Oversees the use of validated and proven methods and tools used to satisfy the analytical requirements on client assignments; Reviews and suggests methods used to formulate comparative analyses and to identify trends
    • Survey Administration & Analysis
    • Demonstrates expertise in analysing and drawing appropriate conclusions from industry and custom surveys.

    • Philosophy and Strategy
    • Has strong understanding and knowledge of both proprietary Deloitte and other major JE systems
    • Prescribed methods and Tools
    • Considered expert by clients and Deloitte colleagues in JE and Deloitte JE products and methods
    • Advanced understanding and working knowledge of Deloitte proprietary JE tools, TASK, Peromnes and Executive Evaluation.

    About You

    Qualifications Required:

    • BSc or Commerce Degree in relevant quantitative subjects/ further training in quantitative methods and reward tools
    • 12 years working experience
    • Prior business development experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication

    Preferred:

    • Postgraduate qualification (relevant to Service Area / Business Management, etc)
    • Prior Big 4/consulting experience
    • 10 years in a client service role, with 7 of these in a senior management role.
