    Supply Chain Finance Planner


    Job Description

    Lead the Planning Cycle for Sub Saharan African Business Unit Manufacturing including:

    • Lead core planning processes for SSABU Manufacturing & Capital - Strat Plan, AOP and Forecasts - discuss and align targets with Manufacturing Leadership team and Supply Chain Planning Manager, deliver core process against clear timeline, manage trade-offs, risks/opps, present plans etc.
    • Build sustainable planning processes & tools to enhance efficiency & responsiveness of SSABU Manufacturing financial forecasting
    • Provide key input to Supply Chain Planning Manager in development of BU financial plans & forecasts and collaborate with BU business planners to deliver the BU wide Planning Cycles
    • Provide financial support for the S&OP financial reconciliation process (S&OP & 1 Source)

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    • Standard costs of directs and mix analysis
    • Conversion costs and variances. In-depth analysis and reporting required on variances to Plan
    • 'Make' Productivity and Capex planning within 'Make'
    • Manufacturing overheads, including accounting adjustments for inventory level changes over periods
    • Setting timeliness / processes to steer Plant FM's and Control team to prepare Plans
    • Partner with the Director Manufacturing to navigate the Plants to deliver AOP
    • Lead Manufacturing (Make), and Capital performance/trend analysis and interpretation together with feedback to the SSABU Manufacturing leadership team
    • Lead business navigation for the SSABU Manufacturing team to hit AOP targets (proactively raise & lead trade off discussions, opportunity/risk management, manage communications with SSABU Planning team, etc.)
    • Consolidate total BU COGS plan collaborating with S-C Planner, Plant FM's and S-C Control
    • Administer & consolidate BU wide Capex governance and tracking
    • Using of the Corporate Tool for Capex tracking and work flow management (governance). Preparation of monthly reports for tracking of Capital Spend across the BU, including monthly PBR reporting, administrator on system.
    • Prepare training on Capital Policy in conjunction with Control
    • Lead financial performance tracking for Directs, MOH (from Plan to actuals)
    • Lead performance tracking for SSA BU Manufacturing (Conversion)
    • Period Close - corroborate with Control to review flash outlooks, explain key drivers, provide trend analysis, explain variances, interpret impact on future forecasts and recommend corrective actions.
    • Forecasting - lead Manufacturing/Capital Quarterly Forecasts, prepare routine and ad-hock forecasts, explain run rates, manage trade-offs, highlight risks/opps, agree corrective actions with Manufacturing Leadership team to get back to Plan
    • Capital - robust reporting on a period basis for capital/project expense asset write offs. Agree quarterly forecasts with BU Planning, Manufacturing Director before submission.
    • Define, implement and continuously improve processes and systems to develop Manufacturing financial business plans
    • Automation of systems and processes required (Working closely with Control and Solutions Manager - Supply Chain)
    • Integration of systems between Control, Planning and ManufacturingLeveraging of Region / Sector best and standard practices
    • Strong Leadership skills around
    • Ability to set & manage a broad and frequently changing agenda
    • Ability to authoritatively and constructively challenge and push back
    • Clear & confident communication/presentation skills
    • Strong people management skills, and in managing several senior management relationships with potentially differing agendas/priorities
    • High integrity/value set to confidently manage ambiguity/"grey areas"
    • Sound project management (lead core planning processes, capital projects) and strong analytical skills
    • Astute commercial judgement and investment appraisal skills
    • Resilient individual with high energy, ability to break down barriers, strong adherence to deadlines
    • Qualified Accountant (CMA desirable)
    • Good knowledge of the FMCG / Manufacturing business desirable
    • Previous experience in Supply Chain Finance or Finance Planning desirable.
