    Demand Planner

    Job description

    OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this role is to facilitate the forecasting process. Act as a focal point to improve forecast accuracy

    MAIN OBJECTIVES:

    IMPROVEMENT PROCESSES

    • Demand
      • Influence the Market Demand through the monthly Forecast process
      • Using the JE Forecast statistical tool and market intelligence review trend analysis.
      • Build into the monthly forecast any relevant market intelligence information
      • Correct the lost sales history
      • Maintain a 24 month rolling forecast for all products
      • Present the forecast accuracy at the Forecast review meeting highlighting products <80% and >120%
      • Review the forecast variance report prior to upload to Baan highlighting any deviations
      • Reasons for Aspen Global forecast deviations to be highlighted to Aspen Global Incorporated
    • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROCESSES
      • Stock Management
      • Maintain fair share of allocation of stock at the beginning of each financial month
      • Publish the month end stock out report with commentary
      • Budget Process
      • Assist with the budget process
      • Continuous Improvement Project
      • Create and add value at all times

      • Information is gathered about development needs

    Commercial Finance Manager

    Job description

    Main Purpose of the Role

    To execute the commercial finance functions of the sales & marketing division. This is achieved via providing the necessary support and advice to the various business areas which should be in line with company’s strategic objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    (The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role)

    • Directly responsible for the preparation, evaluation and submission of accurate financial reports to key stakeholders in the business (sales and finance).
    • Completion and/or review of sales variance analysis (Budget, Forecast and prior year)
    • Management and review of the GP, expenses and advertising analysis
    • Review of Credit Notes, monthly trend analysis and obtaining explanations
    • Management of the monthly accruals and provisions review
    • Completion of brand and customer P&L’s
    • Preparation and/or review of monthly Sales and Opex journals
    • Stock awareness and understanding of major variances
    • Lead and manage the Budget/Forecast process
    • Monthly/Quarterly price volume review
    • Compilation of the Quarterly finance board report
    • Compilation of the five year model
    • Deliver day to day financial support and training to the business; respond to ad-hoc queries; perform ROI analysis
    • Field trips with relevant Sales managers and Key Accounts to gain an understanding of the market
    • Monitoring pricing (against SEP; discounting/claims)
    • Monthly analysis of performance and growth per customer
    • Monthly review of expense to turnover ratio’s
    • Managing the Management Accounts of a specified division and analysing all lines against Budget/FC etc.
    • Financial review and analysis of P&L of a specified division
    • Responsible for consistent achievement of quality, accuracy and on time delivery of financial information
    • Review gross profit analysis and report on the key drivers impacting performance
    • Review price volume ratios and variances
    • In-depth review and analysis of trade expenditure
    • Review monthly dashboards, divisional reporting packs
    • Quarterly forecasting: facilitate process; in-depth review of all Income Statement items; able to report on all variances; perform detailed analysis; timeously respond to queries
    • Annual budgeting: facilitate process; in-depth review of all Income Statement items; able to report on all variances; perform detailed analysis; assist with preparation and review of budget presentation pack; timeously respond to queries
    • Prepare the budget presentation pack for the budget presentation
    • Directly responsible for correct Daily Sales Forecast/Budget
    • Assisting the Commercial Head with project related matters and other ad-hoc requests
    • Management of a junior team member in the team and providing appropriate guidance and coaching to help his/her development
    • Approval and signing off of expense invoices within a specified monetary range
    • Signing off Reps and Agent commissions within a specified monetary range
    • Managing the relationship with GSK in order to allow for efficient communication with regards to the GSK products and marketing fee etc.
    • Directly responsible for all matters and queries related to GSK products
    • Identifying risks and opportunities which impact the business
    • Measuring certain third party product performance against contractual agreements to ensure that under-performance does not result in fines/ penalties
    • Ensuring that all accounting transactions are in line with the principles of IFRS
    • Ad hoc duties

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Matric pass minimum
    • CA (SA) > Newly or 1-2 years post qualified
    • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a preference
    • Commercial exposure
    • At least 3 years working experience in a finance environment (audit or otherwise)
    • Computer literate – proficiency in excel, word, building financial models
    • PowerPoint, and a fully integrated computer system e.g. SAP
    • Prior experience in the interpretation and use of accounting standards and the Companies Act
    • Understanding of ERP systems
