    Technical Services Supervisor

    Job description

    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

    The incumbent will be empowered to incorporate the Total Quality philosophy into all aspects of the job. This includes working as a team member, striving to meet and exceed external and internal customer expectations and committing to continuous quality improvement, establishes and maintains quality assurance programs, policies, processes, procedures and controls ensuring that performance and quality of Service & Repair processes (established and new) conform to established standards and agency guidelines to ensure lasting customer satisfaction.

    Main Job Duties/ Responsibilities

    • Responsible for ensuring smooth and timely flow of workshop activity, including job scheduling and labour allocation for daily operations. Report on manpower overruns or shortfalls.
    • Co-ordinate resources (operational and human), schedules and activities to effectively manage workshop activity.
    • Work with Supply Chain to ensure spare parts are available when required, setting inventory levels for service center, reporting on unfulfilled parts requirements
    • Assist with quoting, project management, materials purchasing and quality checks.
    • Ensure accurate records of service activities are maintained within the Service Management System
    • Manage inbound deliveries of parts and faulty equipment, ensuring accurate inventory levels, service documentation and customer billing
    • Review reports showing service activity progress, identify and communicate delays or concerns.
    • Act as a technical adviser on key projects and other areas of the business as requested.
    • Ensure smooth and accurate communication with customers and Business Unit partners regarding the work status and other service related enquiries
    • Receive and review feedback from customers and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Investigate customer complaints and concerns arising from service, propose and implement solutions to address complaints.
    • Develop and implement systems to record, file and store information pertaining to client enquiries and maintain Medtronic’s system – SAP
    • Identify and coordinate fulfillment of training needs for technical and process/system related trainings.
    • Manage and coach performance of workshop and customer care staff
    • Promote a Health and Safety culture within the team.
    • Implement and maintain 6S and other best practices in workshop management
    • Demonstrates skill in the use and care of all tools and equipment
    • Maintain availability of tools, including coordination of calibration schedules
    • Seeks to improve the quality of the output of a process by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in the workshop process.

    Your profile

    • Diploma in Clinical Engineering
    • Min. 5 years of relevant working experience
    • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
    • Understanding Quality Management Systems and process approach to QMS
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to work with remote teams and communicate with a wide range of cultures
    • Experience in developing processes and documentation, including process diagramming
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Knowledge of SAP system is desirable
    • Familiarity with process improvement and change management frameworks
    • Familiarity with document control process will be an asset
    • Analytical skills & pragmatic approach

    OVERALL OBJECTIVE / ACCOUNTABILITY

    To gain and maintain market share in the Spine business by promoting, selling and creating awareness and acceptance of Spine products within a defined sales territory.

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    Calls on Orthopedic & Neuro surgeons, hospitals and other non-clinical buyers to sell medical devices, products and services or therapies. Operates on a domestic market level. Is responsible for the achievement of the sales and profit objectives of a specified territory or products. Promotes and establishes physician and account education of the company's products and/or services

    Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

    Sales and Marketing

    • In conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager, develop and implement an quarterly Sales plan (Performance evaluation plan) for the sales territory.
    • Conclude sales calls to promote sell and service Medtronic products and services to existing and prospective customers.
    • Maintain a close working relationship with all Key Accounts for the Spine business.
    • Complete a weekly and monthly sales report.
    • Track competitive activity and provide regular field intelligence reports on competitive activities, changes in markets, distribution and pricing, as well as input on customer preferences and product features.
    • Achieving AOP.
    • Customer support and customer training.
    • Attend required Seminars and conferences.
    • Manage all inventories within the defined sales territory.
    • Manage expenses.
    • Implementation of marketing strategies.
    • Helping team out with cases in SA

    Technical/Education

    Ensure that our customers receive product news and updates on a continuing basis.

    Job Qualifications

    • Degree or diploma, an Allied Professional background would be of value.
    • Background or knowledge in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology will be an advantage
    • Administration in an office environment would be an advantage.

    Job Experience

    • SPIN selling qualified, or any Sales training
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience in sales
    • Theatre background, surgical experience in trauma, orthopedics
    • Spine, Prostheses or Trauma background would be a first choice.
    • Problem solver, think on his/her feet.

    Main Purpose/ Responsibilities Of The Job

    • Lead and develop the establishment of the strategies, annual goals and objectives of the CRHF Portfolio.
    • Develops annual Regional marketing plans in conjunction with sales and marketing teams, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus on meeting organizational objectives and achieving AOP.
    • Managing the entire CRHF product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, for the Region.
    • Analysis of customer research, current market conditions and competitor information and activity
    • Acts with accountability to achieve the strategic imperatives defined for the CRHF Division.
    • Contributes to set up and develop of annual Business and Account Plans to grow the Regional CRHF portfolio, across all CRHF related product lines, with a special focus on New Product introduction.
    • Establishes stronger linkage with the marketing activities of the RSA Marketing Team.
    • Work with the CRHF Product team to drive cross portfolio leveraged opportunities.
    • Identifies business growth opportunities and potential unmet customer requirements and provides vision and focus to move ideas to marketplace.

    • Maintains frequent and continuous communication with sales force regarding competitive activities as well as initiatives relating to competitive product lines.
    • Initiates and organizes studies required to develop the market for the various potential applications for implantable monitoring. These will take the form of both clinical and economic value to drive the appropriate use and cost effectiveness of product opportunities.
    • Works in collaboration with the Education & Training Organization (Academia) in the field of CRHF.
    • Analyzing potential market/industry partner relationships to help drive and grow market business within the Region.
    • Work with Customer Services to release back orders / stock promptly
    • Manage team with monthly consignment stock checks/ short dated stock.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS And EXPERIENCE (incl Skills And Competencies)

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the CRHF field
    • Appropriate business/science qualification
    • Managerial experience preferred.
    • Willingness to travel.
    • Knowledge of CRHF customer base.
    • Ability to manage group of diverse people.

    Skills / Competencies:
