    Unit Manager Medical Ward

    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

    • To lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organisational resources within a structured unit.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

    • Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
    • Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
    • Lead and manage the staff in the unit
    • Manage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources
    • Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
    • Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
    • Manage key stakeholder relations

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

    • 3 or 4-year Diploma or 4 year Degree in Nursing; Postgraduate qualification in the unit’s specialist area (if relevant)

    DESIRED EDUCATION

    • Nursing education qualification; Nursing management qualification

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

    • At least 5 years professional nursing experience in a hospital; 2-3 years leadership experience in a hospital

    • Infection Prevention and Control; Clinical Facilitation

    • Auditing and accreditation processes

    Accounts Controller Lvl2

    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

    • To optimise revenue by ensuring that an accurate account is generated for each patient and the patient file contains all the relevant supporting documentation.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

    Accurate and timeous billing of all charted items used during the patient's stay

    Complete all patient files and ensure these contain all documents as well as a final billed account

    Utilise and control applicable reports to ensure prompt finalisation and rendering of accounts

    Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication with other departments

This is achieved through the creation of employee engagement, multiple client relationships, strong operational and logistical management, as well as fiscal discipline.
