Key Output

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Grade 12
• Artisan qualification
• minimum 5 years’ experience
• sound technical background – product knowledge
• computer literate
• accuracy and attention to detail
• good people skills
• able to prioritise and perform under pressure
• Supervisory experience
• Customer Service is an advantage

Key Output

• Assist the mechanic(s) in performing moderate to complex maintenance and repair work on machines and / or components.
• Know which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the mechanic / technician has them within reach.
• Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to 20kg or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size.
• Clean and maintain facilities and equipment.
• Assist artisan to obtain and check parts for particular jobs.
• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Minimum Grade 12 or senior certificate
• Ability to obtain certificate as forklift operator within 90 days of appointment
• Ability to obtain certificate as overhead /jib crane operator within 90 days of appointment
• Ability to follow instructions under supervision
• Drivers licence – Code B will be an added advantage

Key Outputs

• To Data-Mine machine health data and recommend preventative measures to Internal and External customers
• Do in-depth analysis of machine condition based on electronic data, SOS and other sources and provide accurate solutions to the CM or customers.
• Help with continuous improvements of reports.
• Achieve team Balance Scorecard.
• Achieve applicable Service Key Performance Indicators (KPl's)
• Ensure Personal Development Action Plan is in place and adhere to
• Custodian of CAT INSPECT
• Key customer support

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Matric and Qualified Artisan (Mechanic in relevant trade i.e. Diesel / Earthmoving)
• Five years Post-Apprentice / Learnership experience
• Experience and advance skill in the Condition Monitoring environment
• Minestar application knowledge and data processing (advantage)
• Troubleshooting, problem solving, failure analysis and report writing skills
• Caterpillar product knowledge and VIMS PC
• Hands on machine and components experience
• Manage electronic alarms from Equipment and ensure prompt recommendations
• Analytical ability, communication skills, time management
