    Programme Management Office Co-ordinator

    • The main purpose of this position is to develop the Corporate Service Department (CSD) Programme Management Office (PMO) governance framework, to align with the Strategic Project Management Office (SPMO) in relation to the administration and implementation of the SPMO governance framework, which includes practices, standards, methods, tools and templates.

    Detailed Description
    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Develop the CSD PMO governance framework (including processes, procedures and standards) to align with the SPMO.
    • Identify areas where deviations from SPMO are required for corporate real estate and receive relevant approvals.
    • Implement the CSD PMO governance framework (e.g. principles, standards, processes and practices) in support of the CSD’s programme and projects.
    • Assess and monitor the effectiveness of CSD PMO (e.g. principles, standards, processes and practices) and recommend improvements where required.
    • Define and ensure that adequate governance and controls are in place for the CSD PMO processes, in line with the internal audit programme and also drive the resolution of audit findings.
    • Use the SPMO governance framework, project and change management practices to guide the CSD PMO in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of strategy management products and services.
    • Manage strategic relations with significant stakeholders (client facing leads, supporting departments such as Human Resources, Risk Management and Internal Audit).

    Job Requirements
    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    • a Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Project Management or an equivalent qualification; and
    • five to seven years of experience in project management and/or experience in PMOs.

    Associate Resolution Planning Specialist

    • The main purpose of this position is to conduct research and support the development of crisis management capabilities within the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), and to assist with the development of resolution policies and resolution plans for financial institutions.

    Detailed Description
    The successful candidate will be responsible for, among other things, the following key performance areas:

    • Conduct research that supports the development of policies related to the crisis management and resolution functions of the SARB.
    • Analyse data submitted by financial institutions for the purpose of developing resolution plans and conducting resolvability assessments.
    • Assist with identifying information gaps and developing proposals to address them.
    • Participate in engagements with financial institutions and industry stakeholders on issues related to crisis management and resolution.
    • Assist with the administrative duties for meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist with the coordination and administration of the SARB’s Resolution Policy Panel and Resolution Planning Working Group respectively.
    • Stay abreast of international best practice and sector developments, analyse the implications of these changes for the work of the Resolution Planning Division and make proposals on how these developments could be applied to improve current practices.
    • Assist with the development of presentations to various SARB and industry forums on matters related to crisis management and resolution.
    • Assist with the day-to-day activities of the Resolution Planning Division.

    Job Requirements
    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    • an Honours’ degree in Banking, Finance, Law or other equivalent qualification; and
    • two years’ job-related experience within the financial sector or financial services industry.

    Additional requirements include:

    • knowledge of regulatory frameworks and international standards;
    • knowledge and understanding of business continuity or crisis management;
    • knowledge of, or experience in, managing distressed assets;
    • facilitation and presentation skills;
    • strong interpersonal skills;
    • strong communication skills (verbal and written); and
    • proficiency in the use of Microsoft (MS) Office products such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
