    Facilitator - Limpopo

    The requirements for this position are:  

    • First Aid Level 1 certificate
    • Being able to swim is an essential requirement
    • Diploma in nature conservation – specialising in outdoor education would be an advantage
    • FGASA Level 1 qualification would be an advantage
    • Must enjoy working with teenagers
    • Must be prepared to work long hours and be adaptable to the many different tasks which this job will require
    • Must be able to work continuously for long periods without a break
    • Must be able to work in a remote area
    • Must have at least a code 08 drivers licence
    • Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
    • A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as to participate in the broader life of the school

    GC Water Polo Coach

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have.

    • Enthusiasm and passion for the sport
    • 1st team playing experience for at least 2 years
    • Coaching experience is not a pre-requisite, but is an advantage
    • A minimum of 3 years playing experience at senior school and/or provincial level
    • A high level of personal water polo playing or coaching experience in university and/or club environment is preferred
    • An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
    • Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate

    The role will include the following:

    • Daily training as well as tours and camps
    • Coaching and management of a water polo team
    • Working with other water polo and swimming coaches
    • Individual and holistic development of students as social and high-level athletes

    BP Communications, Events Marketing Coordinator

    The requirements and responsibilities for this position are:

    • A relevant tertiary qualification coupled with experience in communications / PR / Events Logistics. Experience in an educational environment would be a distinct advantage.
    • Experience in public relations and media liaison coupled with experience in the use of the full range of social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram etc).
    • Significant experience in drafting press releases, news articles and other forms of internal and external communication with the ability to write in a variety of styles to appeal to different audiences.
    • Excellent command of English (verbal and written); and meticulous attention to editing and formatting detail.
    • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team as well as independently; the ability to work under pressure with a variety of people and school stakeholders.
    • Experience in and demonstrated ability to project manage event timelines, plan, prioritise, and work to tight deadlines.
    • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours (including weekends, holidays and evenings).
    • Excellent communication skills, with a specific focus on written communication.
    • Provide administrative support to the Executive Assistant and School Administration Office.
    • A high level of computer skills, knowledge of desktop publishing, and website function and design would be a distinct advantage in this role.
    • Preparation of written materials including marketing material, school communications, reports, an understanding of videography, photography and presentation scripts using the school’s contact management system and other social media platforms to create and send emails, newsletters, etc.
    • Conduct research, make site visits, and find resources to help staff make decisions about event possibilities, marketing of the school and fundraising opportunities.
    • Budgeting and finance management for events.
    • Manage and plan the termly school calendars, coordinate the compiling of the annual school magazine, attend campus calendar & communications meetings and all related admin.
    • A willingness to work within the Church-based/Christian ethos of the College as well as to participate in the broader life of the school.

    GP Head of Music

    Description

    • The Girls’ Preparatory invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 1 January 2025.
    • Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.

    Requirements

    The requirements for this position are:

    • Relevant music qualification from a recognised institution
    • Previous experience in an IEB school is preferred
    • Additional qualification in education is preferred
    • Proficient in playing a musical instrument
    • Experience in class music teaching from Grade 3-7
    • Experience in organising and leading musical events, performances and festivals
    • Ability to lead the choir / and or orchestra
    • Attend all music department executive and campus related meetings
    • Management of part-time music staff, with strong administrative skills (operational and organisational)
    • A fundamentally future-oriented approach to teaching and learning, adopting latest pedagogies and technologies in sound production (familiarity with Apple-based technologies and apps would be advantageous)
    • The ability to differentiate, innovate and moderate curriculum to complement our innovative and inclusive approach to education
    • The ability to work independently and in collaboration with a variety of teams
    • Excellent analytical, communication, intrapersonal and administrative skills
    • A willingness to research and share latest trends in music and class music programmes
    • Proof of registration with SACE and a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
    • An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
    • A willingness to work within the Methodist Church based ethos of the College
