    Senior Lecturer/Lecturer - (1109)

    Senior Lecturer

    • A PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Victimological  or Policing studies
    • At least 5 years’ tertiary teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate level or 7 years professional relevant experience.
    • At least five (5) publications in accredited, peer reviewed economics-related journals.
    • Experience in supervising postgraduate students and evidence of current or successful supervision of M.Sc. students and PhD candidates.
    • Experience in curriculum review and development.
    • Leadership qualities and ability to manage workload and possess efficient administration skills.
    • Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral and written proficiency in the English Language as a requirement for this position.

    Added Advantages and Preferences:

    • Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching and research expertise that complement the Department’s needs.
    • Preference will be given to candidates who have active community engagement experience that complements criminology and criminal justice curriculum.

    Lecturer

    • Master’s degree in Criminology/Policing studies/Corrections/ Criminal Justice or Victimology.
    • Three (3) years’ teaching experience at a higher education institution or five (5) years’ professional experience in the relevant field. 
    • A strong academic record.
    • Evidence of research skills in the field of criminology/criminal justice or related fields
    • Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral and written proficiency in the English Language as a requirement for this position.

    Added Advantages and Preferences:

    • Preference will be given to candidates with a doctoral degree in criminology/policing studies/corrections/ criminal justice or victimology or candidates working towards the completion of a PhD in the related fields.
    • Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching and research agenda that complement the department’s needs.
    • Evidence of teaching excellence as indicated by student evaluation report.
    • Evidence of academic publications will be advantageous.

    Lecturer - (1129)( School of Management Sciences -> Tourism)

    Requirements:

    • Master’s degree in Tourism Management or any other relevant Masters qualification in Tourism
    • Three years teaching experience at a tertiary institution or five years professional experience in the relevant field.
    • Comprehensive subject knowledge or Travel Practice Operations
    • Progress towards PhD studies is an added advantage.

    Duties:

    • Ensure that programme taught comply with required academic and other standards by compiling lecture notes, study guides, blended teaching and learning.
    • Supervision of post graduate students.
    • Spearhead internal and external funded research projects in the Department.
    • Participate in University’s outreach community engagement programme

    Requirements:

    • LLB Degree with five years relevant post-admission experience.
    • A person must be admitted as an Attorney.
    • Right of appearance in the High Court with a letter of good standing from the Legal Practice Council, computer literacy, and excellent communication skills.
    • Postgraduate qualifications will be an added advantage.

    Duties:

    • Manage the activities of the Law Clinic.
    • Manage and supervise junior staff members attached to the law clinic.
    • Help in the teaching of Clinical Legal Education attached to the Law Clinic.
    • Manage practical training of senior Law Students.
    • Manage the facilitation of access to justice.
    • Represent clients in legal matters attached to the Law Clinic.

    • A relevant Honours degree plus an accounting professional qualification (e.g., CA (SA), ACCA, CIMA, CFA) or a relevant Masters degree.

    Duties:

    Requirements

    • A PhD in Economics
    • Five years teaching experience at a tertiary institution or seven years of professional experience in the relevant field
    • At least five (5) publications in accredited, peer reviewed economics-related journals

    Duties, among other, include

    • University undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and developing economics courses in the Department, particularly Econometrics, Industrial Economics and Money and Banking
    • Pursuing an active research programme, which includes conduct original research in the field of economics, publishing in accredited journals and peer reviewed books
    • Recruiting and supervising Honours, Masters and PhD students
    • Build academic citizenship, including collaboration with national and international external partners and community-engaged academic activities
